Would recommend beginners Museo Atlantico with Dive College to everyone - Super happy that we chose Dive College Lanzarote for our first try dive to Museo Atlantico on Friday (20th of Feb 2026). Neither myself nor my partner had dived before, but were desperate to experience Museo Atlantico. We saw through the Museum's website that Dive College was recommended for a beginners try dive, and we can see why! Upon arrival we were greeted by Laura, and filled out our forms (which were easy to do, but still thorough). We were then introduced to Steve, who took us through the theory introduction. This was easy to understand and thorough, with regular pauses to check for questions. I was so impressed to then hear Steve do the exact same theory session again but in German! All staff seemed to speak multiple languages, which was very impressive, and meant all customers could have the best most thorough experience. We then got taken to do our skills practice in the pool. My partner had 1:1 with Damian, and I was 2:1 with Steve and another customer. Steve was great with me, and helped me feel confident ahead of the dive itself. The only skill I needed to practice multiple times was the mask clearance, and he was great and patient with me. My partner struggles to control their breathing when they are anxious, so felt they needed to calm their breathing down underwater before they did the skill test, one of which is removing and replacing your regulator. Due to this, Damian got my partner to ascend and told them that if they didn’t want to do the exercises, they could just stay within 5 metres, which panicked my partner a bit, as she did want to do the exercises but knew she needed that time to regulate her breathing first. In the end, after calming down, she got them done, and appreciated that Damian gave her a second shot at them. Our final step before the dive was learning about the art in Museo Atlantico. This was done by Damian too. Given the art is so politically charged, Damian did a great job at remaining as politically neutral as possible, without sacrificing the understanding of the artist's, Jason deCaires Taylor's, intention. By having an understanding of the art, it really enriched the already amazing experience once underwater. Getting to the dinghy that would take us to the Museo Atlantico was not particularly easy, but the instructors all helped us get there from the shore. During the ride, the sea was slightly choppy, meaning I felt slightly sea sick, but nothing that could be helped by any of the team. For the beginners dive itself, all divers have a 1:1 instructor, who monitors and adapts your apparatus accordingly, reminds you to equalise, and checks in with you throughout. Both my partner and I had the same instructors for the dive as in the poo practicel, which was great for when the nerves set in, as it was good to have existing rapport to help us calming our nerves before the initial descent. To get down and up from the museum, you lower yourself on a rope. My partner was with Damian again for the dive. We were aware from previous reviews that some people who could not equalise being left at the surface, however Damien was patient with my partner when this occurred. To help give my partner more time to equalise properly, Damien took her away from the rope line down and made her the last in the group, so she could gradually descend. She was able to descend much better as a consequence of this, and made it down far enough that she could float about three metres from the bottom, before then gradually descending right down to meet the group at the bottom. She really appreciated the effort, patience and support from Damien there, and was really happy she did it. My instructor, Steve, checked in with me before we began to descend, and due to regular reminders to equalise and checks I was okay, I was able to be the first of the beginners to get to full depth. Once underwater, Steve continued to be great with me: he struck the perfect balance of always remaining in close proximity and checking in with me, to allowing me some independence. As Steve had a camera with him, he got some great shots of me alone and of me and my partner together, which we are glad to have to remember the experience. The photo & video package was €20, which I believe is good value given the content we got! Post dive, getting back to shore off of the dinghy was a bit tricky, given the team were short staffed, and so some instructors had to leave the dinghy quicker to get the next set of divers ready. We were only left with two instructors to help us all out, which was a slight struggle, as I did panic slightly when I was left to do this alone, but we did all get there in the end, which is the main thing. Overall, would highly recommend the beginners Museo Atlantico dive and doing it with Dive College. Both my partner and I left the experience saying we would dive again, and looking into where we can see more underwater museums Both of us will encourage friends and family who are in Lanzarote to go with Dive College to see Museo Atlantico.

Such a worthwhile experience! - Diving here was absolutely amazing. The team was incredibly friendly, fun and very communicative. There were some issues from me not making the required payment, but Laura called me back to let me know that a slot had opened up, meaning I was still able to dive. If it weren't for her, I really would've missed out! The instructors explained things very clearly and were great at calming nerves, while still ensuring that we had an enjoyable and fun experience - would certainly recommend!

Apprehensive novice diver - Amazing experience definitely a must do. Divers were very experienced, knowledgable and informative, explaining very relevant information in an understandable way. And very patient - as an apprehensive diver who didn’t think I would dive past 1 meter they calmed me enough to dive the full 12-14 meters for which I cannot thank them enough. The explanation of the sculptures was informative also.

First time dive! Truly unforgettable - I couldn’t recommend this experience enough!! Both me and my girlfriend completely were completely new to diving with 0 experience but we were keen to give it a go. The whole team was super friendly, knowledgeable and supportive throughout the experience! Started with a shallower dive in the sea, getting used to the equipment and just breathing underwater in general. Can’t thank Damo enough for how attentive he was during this, ensuring the group was safe and felt comfortable every step of the way! An amazing guide to have for a first time diver! Also Damo is an amazing underwater photographer aswell, I have some beautiful photos of me and my partner to keep as memories:) Museo Atlantico was the deeper dive. After some teaching of basic skills in the pool area we headed out for the dive! All instructors were brilliant throughout, the views are breathtaking! Once in a lifetime experience and worth every penny!

5 star wonderful day out - I've just enjoyed a totally wonderful day out with these guys. I'm in my 60s, my husband didn't want to join me so I went alone. Everyone is really friendly. I booked the visit to the museum for beginners. I've never dived before so did a couple of try dives in my local pool (just £10 each) just so I could experience how the kit feels, which if you have the chance I recommend. But total beginners will be absolutely fine. The staff go through everything you need to know. They're very safety conscious and all the kit looks very new so I had absolutely no concerns regarding safety. As for the museum itself, wow, what an experience. The speed boat ride across the bay to and from is an added bonus! Well worth the money for an unforgettable day out. 5 stars all the way.

Welcoming, friendly and amazing experience. - Had an intro to diving course with 2 dives and then decided to do the open water qualification. I have to say it ‘s the most friendly and welcoming place if you are daunted or a beginner. Fantastic people to help from Steve, bob, Jess and my instructor for the week - Hank. Had a blast. For someone who hasn’t taken care of his fitness for a good few years and found some tasks daunting - it has been a life afirming process. Without their care I wouldn’t have found the wonderful world below the waves. thank you and couldn’t recommend them enough.
