Great experience - The staff was so friendly, knowledgeable, funny and made sure everyone was safe and having a great time. I recommend using captain jaks for excursions on the area!

A must do excursion while in Placencia - It was simply a great day from the pick up at our rented house to the return. The guides were awesome. The boat ride, snorkeling, and lunch were great. A must excursion when traveling to Placencia!

Great trip - We had an excellent half-day trip to Laughing Bird Caye. Be prepared for a lot of swimming while snorkeling as you swim halfway around the Caye. Most aquatic life that I have ever seen on a snorkeling adventure. Side note- we also rented a golfcart from them, and it was great. They had it ready at our VRBO upon arrival and picked it up, so convenient.

Private catamaran experience - Our guides Alex and Captail Cubby were amazing for the private catamaran that we booked as a family over Christmas. They were constantly checking in on us to make sure our day was perfect. We didn't even have to ask for drink refills as they kept them coming the whole day! We sailed out to an island and had lunch served to us on the boat. We then got to swim around and relax before heading back to shore. The staff were nothing but accommodating, friendly, and knowledgeable about the area. Would highly recommend to any group looking for a private experience out on the ocean.

Great excursion - Our snorkel guide was amazing. The water was pretty choppy that day and we are in our 80s, so he attached a Life vest to himself that we could hang onto as we followed him in the water as he pointed out various fish. The snorkel equipment was good quality, and the lunch was great. Would recommend captain Jaks

Snorkel tour Captain Jack's. - Excellent calm, clear water. Take a boat ride over to the island where you'll start your adventure with your guide where he will point out many different species of fish and coral. After a few hours head ashore and grab a bite. Our lunch consisted of Watermelon, a fresh vegetable salad, chicken along with rice and beans. Then head back to the water woohoo. Great adventure.

Great trip!! - The experience was amazing, our Captain Doyle and our snorkel guide Tulu were the best! Very informative, great snorkeling and all of the staff made the experience so much fun!! Great for beginners to the experienced snorkels!!!

Finally made it to Placencia! - Booked a trip to Laughing Bird Caye in Placencia through Captain Jaks. So August, when we booked, would be considered the slow season so we pretty much had the entire island to ourselves. Our guides, Nick and Doyle were absolutely amazing. We will be doing this trip again for sure. We live here in Belize and as locals couldn’t ask for anything better we also had two guests from England with us and they loved it too! Definitely recommend these guys. They were absolutely spot on. Captain Jaks is a top-notch outfit for sure. I’m thinking we are going to do their monkey river tour next. Tourists and Locals check these guys out.

Incredibly knowledgeable tour guide. Make sure you confirm any changes to your booking with the operator - Incredibly knowledgeable tour guide who expertly led us to identify multiple types of fish and coral, a blue crab, a giant lobster and a cucumber fish. Only challenge was regarding logistics.. specifically changing the date booked on Viator wasn't communicated to the operator.

Regretful Choice - Our experience with Captain Jak’s was a mixed bag and unfortunately a lowlight of our trip to Belize. The day we were supposed to out in a full day snorkel tour to Silk and Moho Cayes, a cold front came through and we were told Captain Jak’s was rescheduling us for the next day. I got no confirmation of a hotel pickup for the next day so we drove ourselves into town to meet the tour. Our reservation had apparently been lost in the rescheduling shuffle, but they did accommodate our party to go out snorkeling that day. Since the weather was apparently still rough offshore, we were diverted to Laughing Bird Caye—but I wish we had not gone at all. Our guide was unpleasant, even roughly accusing me of taking more than one piece of chicken at lunch !, the wind was so strong I couldn’t get the rice at lunch into my mouth without blowing away lol, and may of the corals seemed bleached. It would’ve been a shame to miss snorkeling entirely on our trip, but I definitely don’t think the tour was worth what we paid for it. I will go with a different tour provider when we next return to Belize.
