- Mewia Lacha Reserve - This private nature walk, lasting 5 hours, takes participants on a 6.5 km loop through the western part of the Mewia Łacha Nature Reserve, situated at the easternmost point of Sobieszewo Island. The trail is rated moderate due to its sandy and uneven surfaces. It starts in serene pine woodlands and then transitions to a cobbled path along the Vistula River. Early on, there is an observation point perfect for spotting various duck species and, with some luck, graceful grey herons. The trail then moves into more demanding dune landscapes, where wild roses flourish and damselflies and dragonflies fill the air. At the spit’s far end, a raised viewing platform offers a stunning view of distant sandbars, ideal for observing grey seals with binoculars. After enjoying the scenery, the route follows the coastal path and loops back through the forest, concluding a rich and diverse experience in one of Poland’s premier birdwatching destinations.

Explore the wild coastal landscapes of northern Poland on a 5-6 hour private tour of the western side of the Mewia Łacha Nature Reserve. Recognized as a “Not to be missed” destination on Birdingplaces.eu, this serene yet striking reserve serves as a crucial sanctuary for breeding and migratory seabirds, including various gull and tern species. The trail demands moderate fitness due to its sandy and uneven dune terrain, but the abundance of bird species makes the effort worthwhile. Stroll through tranquil pine forests and shifting dunes to arrive at the Vistula Spit viewpoint, a perfect location for observing coastal birds and often grey seals lounging on distant sandbanks. This is a truly picturesque and fulfilling experience for nature enthusiasts. Nearly 100 species of water and marsh birds have been documented within the reserve, in addition to the numerous other bird species inhabiting the surrounding forests.
