- La Piccola Gerusalemme - Known as the Jewish Ghetto, this area still contains some of the most iconic structures of Jewish heritage. Besides the Synagogue, which remains active today, there were also the Kasher Butcher, the Cellar, the Ritual Bath, and the Unleavened Oven.
The Jewish community seamlessly integrated into the daily life of the Tuscan town, and the subsequent centuries were marked by harmony and the establishment of prosperous businesses.
- Chiesa di Santa Maria e San Rocco - The Church of San Rocco, or Santa Maria, is the oldest church in the village of Pitigliano.
- Pitigliano - The Unleavened Oven is a significant landmark in the Jewish Ghetto, where unleavened bread was traditionally prepared during the Jewish Passover. This bread is made simply with water and flour, without yeast, salt, or sugar.
- Cattedrale dei Santi Pietro e Paolo (Duomo di Pitigliano) - The Church of Pitigliano, dedicated to Saints Peter and Paul, was likely constructed around 1276 and was soon elevated to a collegiate church.
It underwent several renovations over the centuries, with its original design significantly altered by the restoration ordered by Niccolò III Orsini.
In 1845, after the Bishop of Sovana selected Pitigliano as his official residence, the church was designated a Cathedral.
The Cathedral’s impressive facade features four large pilasters, a central large travertine portal topped by 18th-century stuccos depicting Cherubs holding the Cross. Flanking the portal are two niches containing statues of St. Paul on the right and St. Peter on the left. The tympanum showcases a bas-relief of Maria Assunta with San Rocco and San Francesco, crafted from Carrara marble.
- Acquedotto Mediceo di Pitigliano - The Medicean Aqueduct of Pitigliano is a magnificent hydraulic structure that enabled the village to receive a water supply.
Constructed between 1636 and 1639, the aqueduct was a project strongly supported by the Medici family to provide water to the city of Pitigliano. It was the first aqueduct built in Maremma.
