- Athens - Journey through Athens and its suburbs until reaching the renowned Corinth Canal, traveling along the picturesque coastal road of the Saronic Gulf!
- Corinth Canal - The Corinth Canal is a waterway that traverses the narrow isthmus of Corinth, connecting the Ionian Sea with the Saronic Gulf in the Aegean Sea. It cuts through the narrow Isthmus of Corinth, effectively separating the Greek mainland from the Peloponnese, arguably making the peninsula an island.
Excavated at sea level, the canal stretches 6.4 kilometers long with a width of only 25 meters.
Though completed in the late 19th century, the canal was a 2000-year-old vision. Before its construction, ships in the Aegean Sea wishing to cross to the Adriatic or dock in Corinth had to navigate around the Peloponnese, adding an extra 185 nautical miles.
It is believed that Periander, the tyrant of Corinth (602 BC), first envisioned the Corinth Canal. Due to the project’s complexity and the limited technical capabilities of the time, Periander built the diolkós, a stone road that allowed ships to be transported on wheeled platforms.

The Peloponnese is surrounded by the Greek sea, featuring lovely beaches and smooth sandy coasts on the western side, with rocky and intricate shores on the eastern side. It’s no wonder that touring the Peloponnese is a favorite among travelers. -
Ancient Nemea - Nemea is arguably Greece’s most significant red-wine appellation, located in the northeast corner of the Peloponnese peninsula. The mountains and valleys surrounding the small village of Nemea have been producing wine for centuries, primarily from the native Agiorgitiko grape, and the appellation surrounding the village is geographically the largest in Greece. A wide range of styles is crafted from this red grape variety, from rich, age-worthy dry wines to lighter, sweeter examples.
Wine production in Nemea dates back to at least the 5th Century BC, although the exact date is difficult to determine. Wine is part of the Greek mythology surrounding the demigod Heracles, who was sent to Nemea to slay the Nemean lion. Around 40 wineries are located within Nemea’s boundaries. Agiorgitiko is Nemea’s native grape variety, named after St George’s Church within the appellation’s boundaries: Agiorgitiko translates to “St George’s grape.” -
Nemea Winery - Explore the wine routes of Nemea. During this luxury wine tour in Nemea, discover single vineyard wines comparable to cru wines from renowned French appellations.
