Following the picnic, continue the hike, enjoying the breathtaking views of the Douro Valley vineyards, until reaching the picturesque village of Pinhão. Here, the hike concludes, offering an opportunity to visit the historic train station.
The hike spans 9 km and is rated as easy to medium for those accustomed to walking 10 km, but may be challenging for those not used to long distances.
From August to September, temperatures can soar to 40ºC (115ºF), so ensure you are prepared for the heat.
