Highly recommend this hike—Nature, history, culture and authentic local food - Antonio was a great guide. He shared so much knowledge about the wineries, growing of the grapes and led us carefully through a rather strenuous hike. He was patient and thoughtful. when we needed a rest, he would tell us more about the area, the plants and the culture. The scenery was gorgeous even for late winter. We were fortunate that the recent rains had subsided. If we come back to the area we would have António take us to more remote places and wineries. A highlight was the lunch! It was delicious and primarily sourced from his family farm (olive oil, wine, honey, Port) plus homemade salad and cake. We loved it!

Outstanding experience with Antonio - Excellent hike with stunning views of the valley. Antonio makes everyone feel at ease and provides much information on the area, the vegetation, the animals, and the history of the region. The homemade lunch was special. This hike is highly recommended.

What dreams are made of! - When in Douro…..Our group of 4 had the pleasure of a tour with Douro Walks. Antonio took us on an unforgettable adventure through the area creating life lasting memories. After the walk, we had the pleasure of an authentic lunch with his wife and son. They made the day so special and we can’t thank them enough!! ❤️. (Must Do)

Amazing, Heart Pounding Hike - This hike is AMAZING! But it is not easy! If you love a great hike, with great views, great history lesson, and yummy picnic at the end, then this hike is for you! We started out straight up, stopped along the way for the spectacular views! Hiked to the top of the “hill” and then came down through vineyards and orange grove. Our guide picked a couple of oranges for us and oh my, delicious! This is such an amazing way to see the Douro Valley!

Exceptional Tour - This was one of my favorite tours I have taken in Portugal!!!....This is Not a Walk in the Vineyards it is a Hike! Make sure you have good Tennis/hiking shoes and 1 to 2 Liters of water!....You Hike to one of the best Scenic views in the Douro Valley! And then back down through Vineyards and even some Cork trees….Lunch was from Antonio’s kitchen and his family Vineyard’s including Port, Wine, Honey, Salad….Perhaps the Cheese and Sausage were from a Small market. Exceptional Tour!...Do this tour!....I can now Justify all the Nata’s I have eaten in Portugal!

Breathtaking! - Our tour guide Antonio was amazing and the hiking tour was perfect. The views were stunning and the information Antonio provided was amazing. He shared a lot about local culture and his own families connections to the area. The picnic at the end was amazing and the food and wine were all prepared by his family. We would recommend doing a hiking tour with Antonio, you will not be disappointed!

Must do! Amazing experience - Excellent! Highly recommend this hike with Antonio. He’s very knowledgeable about the region and the wine making process, the scenery is so beautiful, and the picnic at the end is the best meal you’ll have during your stay!

HIghly recommend! - We had a wonderful day with Antonio. The walking tour was one of the best that we have experienced in our travels. The lunch that was prepared was on of the best we experienced on our twelve day trip in Portugal. I would recommend that if you are traveling in or near this area, this is a must do!

The best experience if you have one day in the Douro valley - Antonio was exceptional in communication prior to the trip. He was so accommodating when we became aware of the train strike that would affect our arrival time in Pinhao
We were met by David and Maria who were great guides. They taught us a lot about the wines and farming and history of the region whilst being just great company on a 7km hike up 330 m and back down again. The picnic was all local produce and soo good!!

Highly recommended - Superb couple of day’s walking with Antonio for our group of 6 - really couldn’t have been better. Antonio is extremely knowledgeable about the areas we visited, his family have vineyards and olives which we saw, and of course tasted their excellent wines and ports. Highly recommended if you’re visiting the area.
