Begin the Journey from Durban to Tala Game Reserve

Tala Private Game Reserve - The journey begins at 7am from Durban, heading towards Tala Game Reserve. Here, participants embark on a 4x4 Game Drive Vehicle to observe diverse wildlife. Tala covers approximately 3,000 hectares, featuring a blend of acacia thornveld, open grassland, and a delicate wetland. This environment attracts over 380 bird species and a variety of large game, including rhinos, kudus, hippos, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, and more.

KwaZulu-Natal - After exploring Tala Game Reserve, the tour continues to Natal Park. In Natal Park, a self-drive experience allows visitors to see elephants.

Howick Falls - The next stop is Howick Falls, a breathtaking 95-meter waterfall, after leaving Natal Lion Park.

Nelson Mandela Capture Site - The journey proceeds to the Nelson Mandela Capture Site, also located in Howick. Nelson Mandela was arrested on August 5, 1962, near Howick, Natal, South Africa, and subsequently spent 27 years in prison. Underberg - The day concludes in Underberg, where the night is spent. Underberg is a charming tourist town celebrated for its natural beauty, abundant attractions, and prime location in the heart of KZN. It is an ideal destination for nature enthusiasts and those seeking the rejuvenating effects of the outdoors.

After breakfast, the journey continues to the Sani Pass in a 4x4 Vehicle.

Sani Pass - Sani Pass is the pinnacle of South African mountain passes. It surpasses all others in distance, elevation, and performance, earning its status as the most iconic gravel pass in South Africa. Situated between KZN and Lesotho, the pass was constructed around 1950 and remains a challenging drive for 4x4 vehicles, offering dramatic scenery, unpredictable weather, and treacherous conditions, with a summit altitude of 2,876 meters above sea level.

This is a high-altitude adventure. Be prepared for adverse weather at any time, with snowfalls possible as late as October. Snow has been recorded on the pass in every month of the year, though not in the same year. The tour includes a visit to the highest pub in Africa and a village in Lesotho.

Durban - After exploring the Sani Pass, the tour returns to Durban, arriving around 6:30pm, marking the end of the 2-day tour.
