The palace complex serves as the official royal residence for the Cambodian King and his family. Its full name in Khmer is Preah Barom Reacheaveang Chaktomuk Serey Mongkol. Cambodian monarchs have resided here since its construction in the 1860s. Built between 1866 and 1870, the palace was established after King Norodom moved the royal capital from Oudong city. The Silver Pagoda, located south of the Royal Palace, is ideal for those interested in religion, particularly Buddhism. It holds significant cultural and religious importance and is a must-visit for travelers.
