Leave the cruise port or hotel near Philipsburg in a comfortable, air-conditioned minivan. Enjoy insightful commentary from your driver as you travel through village roads and lush hillsides on your way to the bird park.
Upon arrival, explore the garden habitat filled with exotic and colorful bird species.
The staff will provide information about the various bird species at the park. Stroll leisurely among species such as the black-headed caique, brown-throated conure, ring-neck parakeet, sun conure, and more.
Feeding the birds offers a fascinating and unique, up-close experience. Observe the plants and vegetation, some of which serve as medicinal and nutritional resources for the birds.
On the way back, enjoy a stop for ice cream and the chance to sample or purchase a variety of Dutch Gouda cheese, one of the world’s most popular cheeses. Then return to the port or choose to stay in town to shop, dine, or swim, and return to the port at your convenience.

Birds were beautiful! And... - Birds were beautiful! And kids loved getting them to come eat from their cups. Driver was sweet and took us around to the French side.

Good for mobility challenged - Bernard took good care of us. The birds were amazing and includes a bowl of feed for the birds. Good overview of the island. The in-laws are mobility challenges and managed fine. The worst part was walking to the tour. Once there no problem.

Picked up at our... - Picked up at our accommodations and had a tour of part of the French side as well as a bit of Philipsburg. The cheese shop was yummy! Our drivers were friendly and informative! Excellent. Loved spending time in with the bird. So colorful.

Bird feeding adventure - Spending time with the variety of birds was amazing. Staff were so friendly. Highly recommend you include this excursion and Lloyd was the best host. He made the entire experience the highlight of the excursion . He is extremely knowledgeable and fun

Gorgeous birds and a comfortable tour of the island with a knowledgeable guide! - My friends group of five retired travelers from a cruise ship agreed to my idea of visiting this bird park. Every one if us LOVED this place! All had big smiles the whole time. The people who worked there were also very lovely. The birds were beautiful and fun to interact with. Our van driver, Bernard, was very cool and funny, knowledgeable charming. He also drove us across to the French side of the island, making stops at a very local roadside iguana feeding place, a walk up lookout at the sea for pics, and back near the cruise ship to a great Dutch cheese store where everybody tasted interesting cheeses and bought loads of cheese to take home. I think he was going to buy us an ice cream and take us back to the ship as part of the deal. But we decided to walk around the other shops near the cheese store, have some lunch at a place nearby recommended by the cheese store employee, and walk the approx mile back to the ship. The whole thing was fun, interesting and only about 3 hours long, which is what we wanted so we could relax in the mid-afternoon after returning to the ship at our own leisurely pace. I highly recommend this tour if you like all those things I just mentioned! Beauty in the simplicity and we got to see a lot of the island in a very comfortable, air conditioned van! 🌴😎🤙🏽

Great excursion! - This excursion was one of the highlights of our cruise. The birds were beautiful and we thoroughly had fun feeding them and watching them play. Our guide was great and we stopped to see the iguanas and the cheese factory on the Dutch side of the island. Great tour!

Colorful tropical birds and cheese stop - The visit to the bird sanctuary was engaging and entertaining. We were able to feed and photograph the very colorful birds, who would land on us. Recommend wearing long sleeve shirt and hat. Our driver, Earl, was very informative and pleasant during our tour. The stop at the small cheese store/gift shop was disappointing. Only received one very tiny cube of cheese and were left to shop in the small store.
