Highlights
  • The Singing Fountain - The Singing Fountain is a neighborhood gathering spot on Passyunk Avenue in South Philly. We’ll meet up and gather the group, then visit a Jewish bakery, talk about the hidden history of the invention of the Philly cheesesteak, discuss Philly’s culture of public art, and get to know a lesser-known part of South Philly.
  • Washington Avenue - Once home to industrial warehouses, Washington Avenue has become a dividing line for the city and is home to some of our favorite restaurants in the city. We’ll visit a legendary Vietnamese bakery and a longstanding Mexican restaurant with some of the best tacos in the city.
  • Italian Market - One of the longest continually operating outdoor markets in the United States, where locals still do their shopping and lots of restaurants source ingredient. You’ll hear stories of the businesses in this area, and visit a fourth generation Italian bakery, a new-school Jewish appetizing store, and have a little time to shop in the market. We’ll end with a glass of wine from a limited-edition series of wine made support from one of the Italian Market’s oldest businesses.

A fun walking and food tour of Philadelphia! - Danny was a great tour guide for our family outing. We learned about the history of 6 different restaurants, and sampled foods from each of places. I really appreciated hearing about the Italian heritage found in the Italian Market neighborhood. We also have discovered many places to eat when we return to Philadelphia.

Highly recommend this tour for locals or visitors! - Had such a great time on my tour this weekend. Danny was a great guide who was friendly, fun and very informative. Lots of good history on the chefs/owners, food, neighborhoods and more. This would be a great tour to do when you have out of town visitors but I also really enjoyed it as a local. All of the food was delicious, not a single complaint about any of it. I now have new spots I need to go back to plus they give you a cheat sheet of all kinds of Philly favorites to try! Thanks for a great tour!

A Different Side to Philadelphia - I cannot recommend this tour enough! I’ve been living in Philly for quite some time now, but this tour exposed a different side to Philadelphia I didn’t know existed. Maddy was such a wonderful guide and is incredibly knowledgeable about the neighborhood and the city as a whole. She weaves history, culture, taste, and a few jokes to create such a unique and fun way to see the city. Also, the food you try is FANTASTIC. Every bite is delicious. Whether you’re a local who has been here your whole life or visiting the city for the first time (or second or third), go on this tour! It’ll make you recognize Philadelphia as the beautiful and diverse city it has become!

Thoughtful and impressive tour! - Enjoyed my Tiny Table Tour led by Maddy. Appreciated the communication ahead of the scheduled tour acknowledging the challenging hot weather expected and allowing participants an opportunity to reschedule. The tours are kept to small groups - mine was just 5 guests and Maddy. Maddy is an excellent guide and has created a thoughtful tour that gives visitors a real feel for the diversity of the neighborhood while sharing interesting historical and anecdotal information. It's evident she has done lots of research and cultivated meaningful relationships with the vendors/restaurants we visited. Through this tour I was able to see a part of Philadelphia that's not necessarily on the tourist path and really get a feel for life in that part of the city. Would highly recommend!
