This was actually the second time I took this tour. A friend was coming to visit for his first time and he wanted to explore the history of Philadelphia. This tour was so enjoyable and informative when I first took it a year ago, that I knew it would be perfect for my visiting friend as well. He loved it. We did the usual suspects of historic sites earlier in the day and then took this tour in the evening. It meant seeing some of the same sites, like the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall, but the Dark Philly Night Tour offers perspective and flavor that wall placards and brochures simply can't. I highly recommend this tour for everyone who likes history and wants to learn what the "Founding Fathers" and the City of Philly were really like during the founding of the city and the country.
