Our guide was knowledgeable and pleasant. We had a large group, but she made sure we all had time to look at the details; and there are details! We wondered later if all his belongings were put in a trust after he had a stroke, why were his tools given away? As an artist myself, I understood his need from an early age to create something. That drive seems to be an inherent part of most artists. The sale of his work was necessary, but the need to create was a separate thing from that. Thank you!

Excellent guide--knowledgeable, approachable. Well-maintained area surrounding museum. Good selection of books about Esherick at gift shop. We were traveling from the Pittsburgh area and needed assurance that we would be able to join a tour before we could plan our trip. Many thanks to the staff who accommodated our request!

The tour started on time, and the group size was good. The guide was new to guiding; she was knowledgeable and spoke clearly. I hope that as time goes on she drops her expressions of how great items are, and simply gives more information rather than repeating her enthusiasm. I would also have enjoyed a little more depth about Wharton Esherick's ties to other artists and writers of his time, and of the Hedgerow Theatre connection. I hope these comments are helpful. It is always a pleasure to visit.

My husband and I are always looking for interesting day trips that are generally no longer than 2 hours away. This was worth the trip and one of the better museums we've been to.

The tour guide was incredible and his knowledge of Esherick was second to none. I'd highly recommend that anyone enjoys learning about artisans, furniture making or art make the time to visit this beautiful property.
