Lukla trek to Phakding (2650 m/8562 ft)
Phakding - The journey begins upon arrival at Tenzing Hillary Airport in Lukla, followed by a trek to Phakding. Lukla trek to Phakding (2650 m/8562 ft)
Phakding - The journey begins upon arrival at Tenzing Hillary Airport in Lukla, followed by a trek to Phakding. The route passes through Chaurikharka Village, ascends to Dudh Koshi Ghat (2,530m/8,300ft), and continues to Lukla before reaching Phakding. In Phakding, a visit to Rimishung Monastery is planned.
Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3,440m/11,285 ft) Duration
Namche Bazaar - The trek proceeds through the valley alongside the Dudh Kosi River. Several crossings over suspension bridges are made before ascending to the small village of Jorsale in the Khumbu region, just south of Namche Bazaar. After a two-hour trek, Namche is reached, offering captivating views, including the majestic Mt. Everest (Sagamartha in Nepali). At Jorsale, entry into the Sagarmatha National Park is required, where permits are checked. The trek continues for another 5 to 6 hours of challenging terrain before arriving at Namche Bazaar.
Exploration & acclimatization day at Namche.
Namche Bazaar - Acclimatization is crucial for safety before ascending to higher altitudes. Staying active is advised, so a day trek through Khunde and Khumjung is planned, offering stunning views of Everest, before returning to Namche. In Namche, there is an opportunity to view a supposed Yeti skull and enjoy a local bakery. Besides Everest, weather permitting, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, and other spectacular peaks can be seen. After breakfast, a trek to the Syangboche airstrip (3790m) is followed by an ascent towards Khunde.
Trek from Namche Bazaar to Tengboche (3,855m/12,850ft).
Tengboche - The trek to Tengboche, lasting around 6 hours, follows a fairly even path, passing through many valleys before reaching Kenjoma, where it joins the path from Khumjung. The route passes numerous Mani stones (stones inscribed with sacred Buddhist prayers). The views of Everest and Mt. Ama Dablam are breathtaking along this section. The path descends to Phunki Thanga (3250m) before a steep ascent through pine forests, passing more Mani stones, and hugging the slope before reaching Tengboche (3870m). Tengboche is renowned for its sublime views of many of the world’s tallest peaks, including Kwangde (6187m), Tawachee (6542m), Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse (8501m), Amadablam, Kantega, and Thamserku.
Trek from Tengboche to Dingboche (4,360m/14,290ft)
Dingboche - The trek heads downhill for 6 hours, passing through forests before crossing the Imja Khola and the village of Pangboche, known for its fields surrounded by rock walls. The night is spent in Dingboche.

Dingboche - The trek begins at around 8.30 a.m., taking a relatively easy route up to Chhukung, offering a superb view of Mt. Ama Dablam. The views from Chhukung and later in the valley of Island Peak are spectacular. The trek is relatively short, mostly downhill, before reaching Dingboche for an overnight stay. This trek is often accompanied by strong winds.
Trek from Dingboche to Lobuche (4,930m/16,175 ft)
Lobuche - The trek passes many Chortens (Tibetan shrines & tombs), taking around 1.5 hours to reach the village of Thugla (4600m) for lunch at its tea house. After lunch, the trek continues towards towering peaks like Mt Pumori (7161m) and Mt. Nuptse (7861m) before reaching Lobuche Village (4940m). The route passes through an open valley before arriving at Thukla after leaving the Pheriche Aid Post at Pheriche (4371m), manned during peak trekking seasons. The trek then descends to the yak pastures of the small settlement of Lobuche, taking around 5 hours.
Trek from Lobuche to Everest Base Camp and back (5,364m/17,598ft) to Gorak Shep (5,185m/17,010 ft)
Gorak Shep - The morning begins with a two-hour trek to Gorakshep. The trail starts easy but becomes progressively more challenging. Along the way, there are fantastic views of towering peaks like Everest and Nuptse. The trail continues for about 150 meters before traversing a moraine and then eases before arriving at Gorakshep, one of the world’s most isolated and highest settlements. After lunch, the trek continues toward EBC, following a trail alongside the Khumbu ice sheet. The trek around the ice sheet takes about 1.5 hours before crossing the glacier into the EBC region (5360m). At base camp, there is an opportunity to meet other climbers and share stories. From EBC, views of the Khumbu ice sheet and glacier with its crevices are visible. The descent to Gorakshep takes 6 to 7 hours.
Climb to Kala Patthar(5,555m/18,208ft) and trek to Gorak Shep to Pheriche (4,250m/13,945ft)
Khumjung - The early morning trek to Kalapathar (5550m) from Gorakshep takes around two hours. After a short climb to Kalapathar, uninterrupted views of Everest and other towering peaks are visible. The magnificent photos of Everest seen online are taken from this vantage point. The descent to Gorakshep is a fairly easy downhill trek. At Gorkashep, a stop for tea and a snack is made before continuing the descent to Pheriche. After reaching EBC and experiencing high-altitude climbing, a restful sleep is assured at Pheriche. The trek takes between 6 to 7 hours.
Trek from Pheriche (4,250m/13,945ft) to Namche Bazaar (3,440m/11,285 ft)
Namche Bazaar - Departing Debuche, the trek is fairly easy for around 30 minutes before reaching Tengboche, then descending to Phunkithanga (3200m). The final trek to Namche is a time to celebrate success and share highlights. This is also the last chance to appreciate the beauty of these towering peaks. In Namche, there is an opportunity to reconnect with the outside world via the internet, visit the bakery, and perhaps relax at a bar.
Trek from Namche Bazaar to Lukla (2,850m/9,350 ft)
Lukla - The day involves a 7-hour trek from Namche to Lukla, mostly downhill with several level sections. The trek exits the Sagarmatha National Park and eventually reaches Lukla for an overnight stay.
