Salkantay Trail - The adventure begins early in the morning, departing from Cusco and traveling through the picturesque Sacred Valley. The journey to Mollepata is accompanied by views of snowy peaks and rolling hills, where a delicious traditional breakfast awaits.
SORAYPAMPA - Continuing by vehicle, the group arrives at Challacancha, the starting point of the trek. The hike follows an ancient Inca water canal through open highlands, with the possibility of spotting llamas grazing peacefully. The path gradually opens to a wide plain, Soraypampa, where the first camp is set up.
Humantay Lake - In the afternoon, a side hike leads to the breathtaking Humantay Lake, with its vibrant turquoise waters nestled beneath glacial peaks. After enjoying the view and capturing photos, the group returns to camp for a warm dinner and a night under the starlit Andean sky.
Soraypampa – Salkantay Pass – Huayracmachay – Chaullay – Collpapampa
SORAYPAMPA - At the pass, the highest point of the trek, there is a pause to take in the panoramic view, with Salkantay Mountain dominating the landscape. After a well-deserved break, the descent begins through rocky paths that soon transition to lush vegetation.
Collpapampa – La Playa – Lucmabamba – Jungle Domes
Lucmabamba – Llactapata – Aobamba – Hidroeléctrica – Aguas Calientes
Aguas Calientes - In the afternoon, the group walks alongside the train tracks, a tranquil stretch surrounded by dramatic cliffs and dense jungle. By late afternoon, they arrive in Aguas Calientes and check into a comfortable hotel.
Aguas Calientes – Machu Picchu – Ollantaytambo – Returning to Cusco
Aguas Calientes - An early start ensures catching one of the first buses to Machu Picchu, arriving in time to witness the first light of day illuminating the ancient citadel. As the mist lifts and the sun casts a golden hue on the stone walls, the magic of this sacred site comes to life.
Santuario Historico de Machu Picchu - As the sun rises over the citadel, Machu Picchu is bathed in golden light, revealing its timeless beauty. A guided tour explores its most iconic temples, terraces, and ceremonial sites. After the tour, there is free time to wander at leisure or opt for an additional hike to Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain (subject to availability and prior permits).
Cusco - The group descends back to Aguas Calientes for lunch before boarding the train to Ollantaytambo. A private transfer returns them to Cusco in the evening, concluding the unforgettable adventure.
