The essence: a fantastic experience and a must to not leave it at two or three days but to go for it. - Intro Because there were no other visitors we (Dutch couple) made the trip together with tour guide Abel, cook Leonardo and skippers Santos and Chino. And it was awesome. It costs a bit but then you have a bit, we wouldn't have missed this. Logistics, food and accommodation The entire trip was arranged down to the last detail, from the intake and pick-up at our hotel to transport by bus and especially by boat, the lodgings and the food. Mosquito nets available, private bathroom, wifi in the common area and yes, boots to borrow! The food was unexpectedly good and varied, also for my friend who is a vegetarian. Beautiful artworks often with love and attention. Transport by boat super nice and relaxed with experienced skippers. Great! The nature experiences This is too much to mention. During the bus ride from Cusco we have already made several stops to spot the Capuchin monkey and many bird species. Highlights included Motmot, Quetzal and ‘Cock of the rock’. And of course the hummingbirds and butterflies. Wow. The trip consisted of a part in the Cultural zone and two nights in the strictly protected reserve. With a full program on foot, on the boat and three night walks, the list of beautiful and often wonderful species became even longer: the white and black caiman, capybaras, multiple species of monkeys and tapirs at night. The season for the jaguars is mainly July and August (a bit drier), which we have unfortunately not seen. And that chance is not huge either. The same goes for the tribes present that you might see on the banks. Interesting to look into in advance besides animals and plants. But who knows one day. In terms of birds, butterflies and insects it was exuberant. Parrots, the black tarantula, large green frogs, and many lake bird species. Look up the Oropendula and check that insane sound. You're gonna hear him all the time on your trip. In addition to the fauna, there is the flora: immense trees, trees with spines on the bark and trees as smooth as an eel. The jungle with the clammy warmth and always something surprising. A wonderful experience. The guidance As mentioned, we set out with a well-rehearsed team of relaxed jungle experts with knowledge and humor. Palotoa only works with guides who come from the Amazon and know flora and fauna like the back of their hand and know how to spot the wildlife unprecedentedly well. A container full of knowledge and experience. At Palotoa you are in good hands on all fronts. The price $1,470 per person is a lot of money, but given the duration of the trip (5 nights/six days) and the perfect guidance, it was definitely worth it to us. You can opt for a cheaper and more popular alternative but then the question is whether you get as much out of it. Also, they are probably shorter trips that do not enter the reserve. Examine it for yourself! We would like to end with a heartfelt thank you to Abel, Santos, Leonardo and Chino. And driver Oscar. Fantastic jungle experts that I wish everyone who is considering exploring the Amazon.

The Best Amazon Tour! - We couldn’t be more lucky to have stumbled upon Palotoa Amazon Travel, an excellent company! Abel was our guide he is amazing, all of the staff were the kindest people we had met during our travels in South America. The 4 x lodge accomodations we stayed in were great, the meals cooked by the lovely chef were all 10/10! Abel our guide was kind, caring and very knowledgeable, we always felt comfortable and well looked after, night walks and other activities can be nerve racking, but we had full trust in Abel. Abel taught us many things whilst on tour, we learnt so much about the Amazon, the many different species of flora and fauna, natural medicines and historical stories. We wanted an authentic experience and that is exactly what we got, Abel and the staff sang bird song and made animal noises to attract the attention of the birds and animals, a very special moment. This was an unbelievable 6 day experience, we highly recommend Palotoa Amazon Travel and the 6 day Biosphere Tour, you will not be disappointed! We hope to return one day and do this wonderful tour all over again!

Great experience - We had a great experience in a group op 7 with our guide Demetrio. He really seas every animal and detail in nature. He also has extensive knowledge of biological ecology. The organisation in Cusco is hard to reach and the communication was a bit chaotic. We really enjoyed this trip!

An unforgettable experience at the heart of the Manu! - This 6-day tour of Manu National Park exceeded all my expectations. From day one, the organization was impeccable: the transfers were punctual and comfortable, and our guide, Abel, was incredibly knowledgeable and passionate. Thanks to him, we learned a lot about the flora, fauna and local culture. Every day was full of adventures, from jungle hikes to river boating. The sightings of birds, monkeys and alligators were unforgettable. The accommodation was comfortable and surrounded by nature, which made the experience even more special. The food was delicious and always fresh, with well prepared local dishes and options for all tastes. Transfers can be long, but stunning views and stops along the way make the trip part of the adventure. A 100% recommended tour! And, without a doubt, the best choice was to do it with Palotoa Amazon Travel, a professional and well organized agency.

unforgettable experience in the Manu - We had an unforgettable experience at the Manu, thanks to the impeccable organization of Abel and his entire team. We did the tour in five days, because we had to take the plane back. The duration of 6 days would have been ideal. We stayed for two nights at the Palotoa Lodge and two nights at Casa Mashigenka, within the reserved area of the park. The facilities were very comfortable in both cases. We did the experience of sailing several hours along the rivers, we watched a lot of animals (monkeys, alligators, birds, river otters) and marveled at the vegetation of the jungle. We had an excellent experience thanks to Abel, who was born and raised in the area, and then worked as a park ranger. Thanks to that, you have a very precise knowledge of the whole region, its flora and fauna. Cristobal’s food was unforgettable, so much so that our children missed it on the next leg of the trip, in Lima. The motorists who operated the boat knew the rivers very well, which meant that we could overcome the obstacles (low-lying areas, banks) without any inconvenience. One highlight is that the company and those who carry the tour are local people, which gives special value to the whole trip. In short, we highly recommend this experience!! We can not imagine a better option to know the Amazon from Cusco.

Unforgettable experience - Everything was magnificent in this adventure in the Manu with Palotoa Amazon Travel: our guide Michel was very prepared, Leonardo an excellent and very nice cocinero, our driver for the road trip very kind and the boatmen Dionisio and Rolando very skilled. The lodges were wonderful: well kept, clean and placed in beautiful places. Surprisingly we didn't have too many surprises with insects, arachnids or anything else... I want to specify this for those who should have a bit of fear about it: launch yourself that it's worth it! For six days we felt really cared for and made part, as respectful visitors, of the natural spectacle of Manu. For anyone looking for a jungle experience, I recommend contacting this agency: Gladys and her husband run it with passion and wisdom and will advise you at best. We understood from the briefing, in their office in Cusco, that we could not have chosen better: from their ways and their recommendations, not only passion and wisdom shone through, but also the intent to plan nature tours in respect of the latter. Nice people in a nice place. We won't forget them!
