Sacred Valley of the Incas - The journey begins with a 90-minute drive to the Sacred Valley of the Incas, where there will be a 30-minute stop to load the bikes, enjoy breakfast, and use the restroom. The adventure continues to Mount Yanamayo, at an elevation of 4480 meters, the highest point of the tour. Here, the mountain biking adventure kicks off on a thrilling 73-kilometer downhill route, offering breathtaking views of alpacas, llamas, waterfalls, birdlife, Andean traditions, and more.
Wild Jungle in Ocobamba
Ocobamba - Embark on a 7-hour trek through the wild forest. The uphill hike reveals the habitat of numerous bird species, such as the cock-of-the-rock, woodpeckers, toucans, and parrots, along with peccaries, monkeys, bears, pumas, snakes, and wild boars. This challenging hike is packed with adventure, crossing fallen tree trunks, rivers, and natural bridges, and encountering many waterfalls. Along the path, discover the “tree of hope,” poisonous mushrooms, towering trees, and various endemic flora. The hike ascends from 1650 meters to 3250 meters above sea level, requiring significant physical effort, with the summit reached in approximately 4 hours and 30 minutes. From the summit, the descent covers 6 kilometers to 1750 meters above sea level, with a lunch break at 1:30 p.m. After lunch, a one-hour walk leads to Delicias, at 1420 meters above sea level, where camping and dinner await. For those interested in river rafting, a 2-hour excursion can be arranged with the guide.
Delicias - Aguas Calientes - Machu Picchu.
Aguas Calientes - After breakfast, a 2-hour and 30-minute drive takes you to the Machu Picchu hydroelectric station. Along the way, visit local homes and observe their coffee, coca leaves, cassava, and fruit plantations, including mango, banana, pineapple, avocado, and citrus. Before reaching Machu Picchu, enjoy lunch, followed by a 3-hour walk to Machu Picchu Pueblo, where dinner and a hostel stay await. In the evening, there is an opportunity to visit the local thermal baths.
Machu Picchu - Cusco
Machu Picchu - The day is dedicated to exploring the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu, accessible during two visiting schedules:
- Morning schedule: 6:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon
- Afternoon schedule: 12:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Guided tours last 2 hours, followed by 4 hours of free time for photography and exploration. To visit Huayna Picchu Mountain or Machu Picchu Mountain, booking at least 7 months in advance is necessary. After visiting Machu Picchu, return to Aguas Calientes to catch the train back to Ollantaytambo, followed by a 2-hour road journey to Cusco.
