Cusco – Puno – Uros Floating Islands – Amantani Homestay

Lake Titicaca - Guests will be collected from their hotel in Cusco and transferred to the main bus station (Terminal Terrestre Cusco) at 9:00 PM, ready for the 10 PM departure to Puno. The overnight journey takes approximately 8 hours, arriving in Puno around 5:00 AM. Upon arrival, a representative will be waiting to escort guests to our office in Puno until the tour begins. There will be free time to purchase breakfast at a local restaurant or at our office.

The group will reconvene at 7:45 AM to board a motorboat to the renowned floating islands of the Uros people. A guided tour will be provided to explore these reed islands and learn about their history and culture with insights from a knowledgeable local guide.

At 10:30 AM, the group will return to the ferry to cruise the highest navigable lake in the world, reaching the Island of Amantani by approximately 1:30 PM. Upon arrival, guests will meet their host family, who will show them their accommodations for the night and serve a typical lunch made with natural ingredients. In the afternoon, guests will spend time with the family, sharing stories and participating in intercultural activities and games. There is also an option to take a 1-hour uphill hike to the temple of Pachatata viewpoint to enjoy breathtaking sunset views over the lake. Dinner will be served around 7 PM at the local house. In the evening, guests can join group performances featuring dances and music. Overnight stay on the island.

Amantani – Taquile Island – Puno – Cusco

Taquile Island - After breakfast with the host family, guests will bid farewell and board the ferry to Taquile Island, where a 45-minute hike to the main square awaits. Here, guests will learn about the textile art and traditions of this UNESCO World Heritage site. Lunch will be served around midday. The boat to Puno departs at 1:30 PM, arriving at 4 PM, where guests will be dropped off at our office. Shower facilities are available for an additional charge of 15 soles.

Guests will have free time in Puno until 8:30 PM, allowing them to explore the main square and dine at a local restaurant. The bus back to Cusco departs at 10:00 PM, arriving around 5:00 AM the following morning. Upon arrival, a transfer will take guests to their hotel, marking the end of the journey.

This two-day excursion from Cusco offers an excellent opportunity to explore the magnificent Lake Titicaca and gain insights into the lifestyle of the local inhabitants. The scheduled agenda includes visits to the Floating Islands, Amantani and Taquile Islands. You’ll have the opportunity to stay with a local family overnight as part of a homestay experience. The package accommodates round-trip overnight busses from Cusco.
