Cordillera Huayhuash - Departing early in the morning from Huaraz via private transport, the journey begins at Cuartelhuain, the starting point of the trek. The trek ascends gradually towards Cacanan Punta Pass (4,700 m), offering stunning panoramic views of the surrounding peaks. The descent leads to Janca (Mitucocha), a picturesque valley by a turquoise lake, where the first campsite is established.

The trek continues through open valleys, arriving at the stunning Carhuacocha Lake, renowned for its mirror-like reflections of the surrounding peaks.

Following a long descent to the village of Huayllapa, private transport is ready to take travelers to the town of Cajatambo, concluding the unforgettable Huayhuash adventure.

Although the Cordillera Huayhuash spans only 30 km in length, it boasts an impressive array of towering peaks within its compact area. At nearly every turn, trekkers encounter breathtaking vertical walls of ice, snow, and rock. The area is adorned with beautiful lakes and diverse bird species, including the majestic Andean Condors. Additionally, Siula Grande, standing at 6,344 meters above sea level, is notable as the setting for the famous book and film “Touching the Void.”
