DAY 1: CUSCO SACRED VALLEY OF THE INCAS - AGUAS CALIENTES (MACHUPICCHU)

Sacred Valley -

• We will depart from the hotel at 8:00 am to begin our excursion through the sacred valley. After a journey of approximately one and a half hours, we will arrive at the Pisaq ruins for a guided tour lasting around one hour.
• Continuing along the path of the Willka Mayu or sacred river, we will reach Urubamba, the heart of the sacred valley, where a buffet lunch featuring traditional Andean cuisine awaits us.
• Post-lunch, a 30-minute drive will bring us to the village of Ollantaytambo, where we will explore its archaeological site, including the Temple of the Sun, The Intihuatana, the Princess Baths, and the Andean terraces, during a one-hour guided tour.
• Following our exploration of Ollantaytambo, we will proceed to the train station to catch the train to Aguas Calientes, where we will stay overnight. In the evening, our guide will visit the hotel to discuss all the details regarding the upcoming visit to Machupicchu.

DAY 2: MACHUPICCHU - CUSCO

Machu Picchu -

• At dawn, we will board the bus that will transport us to the enigmatic city of the Incas, Machupicchu. The bus ride will take about 30 minutes, and our guide will be waiting for us upon arrival.
• To enter the iconic citadel of Machu Picchu, we will present our entry tickets. From there, we will commence a 2.5-hour guided tour that will cover the historical aspects of Machupicchu. Afterwards, guests will have some free time to explore on their own.
• We will then return to Aguas Calientes for lunch.
• Following lunch, we will head to the train station to board the train back to Ollantaytambo.
• Upon arrival at Ollantaytambo station, a Chullos Travel Peru representative will be waiting with a sign bearing your names to escort you to your transportation back to Cusco and your hotel.

The Sacred Valley of the Incas is the most popular route in Peru. Since it was a crucial area for the Inca empire and that functioned as an agricultural, spiritual and political center. During the tour we will appreciate beautiful landscapes and Inca and Pre-Inca archaeological sites, in the afternoon we will take the train from ollantaytambo to aguas calientes. Note: if you are already in the city of Cusco it is recommended to make this tour of the Sacred Valley of the Incas to contribute to its acclimatization since it is at a lower altitude.
