Family Foodie Day
Thomas Tsai

Cafe 222
Peanut butter and banana stuffed french toast, a cup of coffee and a seat outside to people watch is a great way to start off your day.
Seaport Village Shopping Center
Tons of shops and cafes. Great way to spend the morning or early afternoon with the family, walking, shopping and snacking.
El Zarape Restaurant
Scallop and lobster tacos. Nice quiet spot to relax and chow on great food before the rest of the afternoon.
San Diego Zoo
Great fun for the family or on a date. The penguins are a must-visit.
Balboa Park
Wind down from the afternoon by visiting their beautiful and expansive gardens. Especially serene in the evening.
The Oceanaire Seafood Room
Sit at the bar for happy hour - great oyster and cocktail specials. And creamy clam chowder for the kids.
Phil's BBQ
A little out of the way but definitely not to be missed. The line is usually out the door and around the corner, so get here early if you want to avoid a 2-hour wait. Get the ribs and the onion rings. Oh yea, and 2nd side of onion rings (trust me, you'll thank me later).
I would stay at: San Diego Marriott Marquis & Marina
Gorgeous hotel. One side faces the ocean and the other looks down on San Diego's famed gaslamp district. If you want to be in the center of the action, this hotel is it!
