The cemetery, formerly known as the Pitakande Military Cemetery, was taken over by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission and is now a permanent war cemetery. It is the final resting place for soldiers of the British Empire who died during the war, including 107 British soldiers, 35 East African soldiers, 26 Sri Lankan soldiers, 23 Indian soldiers, 6 Canadian soldiers, 3 Italian soldiers, and 1 French soldier. Over 75% of these soldiers served in the army, with the remainder in the Air Force, Navy, and National Fire Service.

- Kandy View Point - Experience the breathtaking beauty of Kandy in all its splendor. Enjoy the stunning view of lush greenery surrounding the sparkling waters of the iconic Kandy Lake, the Temple of the Tooth Relic overlooking the city, and the iconic buildings against a blue sky with hints of white. This viewpoint was identified during the British colonial period. Legend has it that Mr. Arthur, a planter, owned a bungalow above the current Arthur’s Seat and used to view Kandy City from a stone seat under a tree in front of his bungalow.
- Kandy Lake Club - Cultural Dance Show - The Kandyan, or up-country (udarata natum), dances are considered the classical dance tradition of Sri Lanka. Traditionally performed by male dancers, the technique, partly derived from South India, emphasizes dynamism, powerful footwork, leaps, and whirls. It has a rich repertoire, partly originating from ancient indigenous ritual dances and partly influenced by South Indian dances.
- Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic - The subject of intense historical conflict, the tooth, believed to be one of Buddha’s teeth and a significant Buddhist relic, was reportedly brought to Sri Lanka in the 4th century AD and has been central to local politics ever since. Legend suggests that possession of the tooth grants governance over the local area. The Temple of the Tooth was initially constructed in 1603, with the current structure dating back to the 18th century.
