Joao Guadalpi is the Best Guide Ever! - We booked Joao for 3 days in Lisbon & all 3 days were amazing. With a great personality, he shared insight & took us through back streets to keep us out of crowds. We took the Berlangla Island Tour, Sintra, Atlantic Beaches & Cascais Tour & the Lisbon Tour. As a native, he had great first-hand experiences of each area. Joao took us to the best places for authentic codfish dishes, pastel de Belem, sour cherry liqueur in chocolate cups & coffee after every meal. His passion is contagious - and we are leaving Lisbon with a love for the Portuguese and this country.

Unforgettable Day! - Highly recommend this tour! Without the organized planning and insider insight, we would not have been able to do as much on the island and experience it to the fullest. Our friendly (and super popular) tour guide Joao was warm and knowledgeable. Our day was filled with a hike, exploring the fortress, snorkeling, cliff jumping, kayaking through caves, sitting by the beach, having Caipirinhas while looking out at the ocean. A day we won’t soon forget!

Berlengas, both here so close.... - Sometimes nature surprises us in its raw, rude, arid state where only the strongest and boldest are able to win and to create the conditions for prosperity is the case of the Berlengas and the people of Peniche. Our guide João is one of those elements who helps to turn something simple into unique, with his historical knowledge of the place, the sympathy with which he brings everyone with his passion in explaining every detail of the island, the fun he provides to all participants giving to know amazing places, such as the case of kayaking tours along the coast of the island exploring caves and fantastic tunnels, makes us feel authentic Captain James Cook explorers from Berlenga. In short, it was a spectacular day for both adults and children, an experience to repeat without doubt and if possible again in the company of the unparalleled João.

An Excellent Day at the Berlenga Isles with João! - We spend a great day with João visiting The Berlenga Natural Reserve. João is very passionate about the Berlenga Isles and his enthusiasm works contagiously. Everything was planned & executed with the greatest level of detail, which made us relax and enjoy everything in full. João made sure that the kids had fun as well. Couldn't think of a better guide to explore heaven on earth!

Best excursions of 3 weeks in Europe....mainly due to our guide, Joao! - I can't recommend this ENOUGH! Best trip of our three weeks in Europe! Most people haven't even heard of this island and then to go and have so much fun! Our guide, Joao of West Portugal Trips, made this trip over-the-top with memories and tons of above and beyond moments. His passion for his country and, in particular, this lovely island shows strongly.....he shared so much of his personal experience there, history, and local customs that it made me crave to return and spend the night in the fort there....even without hot water!.....and that says a lot. From the moment we encountered Joao he made us feel so welcome. It just so happened we had 4 other people in the group who melded so well together (well guided by Joao). He was constantly aware of EVERY person's needs and abilities, especially on the kayaking part of the tour. Not one time were we ever scared or felt in danger on his watch. As a travel agent, I saw so many professional characteristics in Joao and I will definitely suggest his services to everyone I know going to Lisbon. He does it all. He took the time to take pictures of us when we couldn't on the kayak, gave us restaurant and wine recommendations, and generally treated every one of us like family. He was A+ with communication and safety. The locals on Berlenga are a tight group but he has incorporated himself into their trust and respects them as they respect him. He is well loved by the locals, captain of ship, kayak/boat workers, etc. and I see why. He is a perfect representative of Portugal! This trip was well organized with every minute planned well AND we had time at the end to relax on beach and swim while Joao provided drinks and snacks for us. Suggestions: water is cold so bring a towel with your bathing suit, maybe bring a waterproof cover for phone to take pics while kayaking, bring euros because credit cards aren't accepted at fort cafe, jacket for boat (but Joao gave us all WARM rain coats), TIP money for this wonderful guide!
