Muddy fun - Had a great time with Derreem, the mud volcano is a strange thing to swim (?) Informing! The hike/walk to the mud volcano, the beach, then back to the car isn't difficult - if you're here in wet season it is muddy and slippery (you're going in the mud anyway though!). Trying the doubles and Indian treats was nice, very well looked after.

Rejuvenated Mudd Bath - Denton was a great tour guide. The hike was a bit intense but he made sure we were hydrated and fully enjoyed our experience. We also tried some doubles, roti and kurma from a local shop. Pickup and communication was also great. Recommend this experience as the clay renews your skin and beach view after was enjoyed.

Amazing experience, but be prepared to hike! - I didn’t know what to expect with this tour I booked last minute but I am so happy that my friends and I ended up going. Our tour guide, Denton, drove us from the Hyatt Hotel to the South of Trinidad and gave us a historical tour of Coova/Penal while letting us experience Indian delicacies in his dime. I knew that snacks and light refreshments were supposed to be included the out Tour guide ensured we were well fed with real food. I wasn’t exactly prepared for the hour long hike up the mountain, but wearing crocs definitely saved my tail in being sturdy enough to navigate mud and also being easily enough to clean. I 100% plan to book this tour again and with Denton specifically. The volcano mud helped my acne and being able to wash off in Columbus channel was a beautiful end to the trip. Our Roti on the beach hit the stop for sure!

"Walking into Peace" - I had the pleasure of experiencing the Le'Michel Volcano in April 2022. My favorite part of the trip was finding out what was next. It was an adventure getting into the forest, then we had to climb to the volcano and then hike it to the ocean. Honestly our tour guide Nick was Amazing. From the time he picked us up (3 in total), he was kind, friendly, and welcoming. He played good tunes and gave us the history of DEBE. We stopped at Singh's Doubles, a place he's patronized for over 10 years. We ate doubles, saheena, and sipped some apple juice. Once we reached the volcano (after a beautiful long walk in nature) we were so enthralled. The texture is loose and can be a problem for those with texture aversion. The mud has a stench to it but with an open mind, you get used to it. Nick took pictures of us and we received some wise words from one of the local farmers. As we headed on our hike to the ocean, I felt this spiritual energy surrounding us. It was so beautiful. Nick made sure we were safe and encouraged us to take breaks. Walking through the forest is a job, lol. So many beautiful elements. Once we reached the four of us let out the biggest sigh. We were the only ones on the beach. It was so peaceful and serene. Nick took pictures and videos for us. He was so courteous. Coming from the US it felt so good to be protected & respected in sweet sweet T&T. I would highly recommend booking with Viator.

Mud Volcano - Something Unique To Trinidad - Denton was an amazing tour guide! We had a great time and he was very knowledgeable! Doubles and Roti we got were delicious. The mud was very relaxing, warm and you can float in it!! Definitely want good walking shoes (that you don’t mind getting dirty) and a water bottle. The beach we went to afterwards was peaceful and the water wasn’t too cold. He also took us to see two beautiful Temples! Definitely a must do if you want to experience something new!

Awesome! - We had a great time on this adventure! Zaree (sorry if mispelt) is a wonderful guide, the tour as a whole was everything we expected (picked up in an AC van, stop for great food, mud, strutt to the beach and a dip). Definently pack some good comfortable water shoes ;)

Exciting Mud Volcano Experience - Tour guide was very knowledgeable and knew the trail very well. Heads up - it is about 13k/roughly 7+ miles but you can go at your own pace. Be sure to wear shoes that you can throw away.

Unique Trinidad experience - Definitely glad I did this tour, swimming in a mud volcano is not something you can do just anywhere. Did not realize quite how much hiking was involved though. It is not a difficult trail but 45 minutes covered head to toe in mud can be kind of uncomfortable so be prepared with adequate shoes and water. The food stops in town were excellent. Make sure to try as many different foods as you can!

Not Bad - The tour guide was great. It was only my husband and I on the tour. The mud smells really bad. The walk from the mud to rinse off is more like a long hike through a jungle.

SCAM!!!! - BUYER BE AWARE!!!!! The tour and advertisment is falsely. My friends and I did not do the tour at all! The "Hiking" trail was a thick muddy path which is not walkable! The Tour guide informed us that it is usually not like this. My friends and I then asked for a refund which we was told that they provided services and they did not! We did not get the food, we did not hike, and we did not experience the mud volcano! When I spoke with the owners, they were very RUDE and asked that we take it up with Viator. By all means, save your money and avoid Eco-cultural Tours.
