Nafplion was the second capital of the First Hellenic Republic and the Kingdom of Greece from 1827 until 1834. The Ancient Theatre of Epidaurus is considered the best-preserved ancient theatre in Greece, renowned for its perfect acoustics and fine structure. Constructed in the late 4th century BC, it was completed in two stages. Originally, the theatre featured 34 rows of seats divided into 34 blocks by stairs and walkways.
