- Sierra de Bahoruco National Park - For bird watching enthusiasts, Sierra de Bahoruco is an unmissable destination.
Here, a diverse array of endemic and migratory birds can be found in a stunning natural setting, offering a rich biodiversity that is truly awe-inspiring.
During this tour of Sierra de Bahoruco, visitors will also observe that it serves as a breeding habitat for the Pterodroma hasitata, a seabird nearing critical endangerment, and is a significant site for 31 species of Neotropical migratory birds visiting during the North American winter.
This is why the IBA-SB is regarded as a crucial non-breeding area for 21 of these species.
