- Belmeken Dam - Journey from Sofia to Belmeken Dam takes approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes. This serves as the starting point for the hiking adventure. Situated in the Rila Mountains at an altitude of 1923 meters above sea level, Belmeken Dam is where the guide will lead the group to Belmeken Peak (2627 meters).
The ascent to the saddle between Ravni Chal and Belmeken peaks takes about 2 hours. Climbing to Belmeken Peak using the winter markers takes an additional 30 minutes. Upon reaching the peak, participants will be greeted with breathtaking views of the Eastern Rila and Western Rhodopi mountains.
The descent to the saddle between Belmeken and Ravni Chal takes 20 minutes. The hike continues along the mountain ridge between Ravni Chal and Sivri Chal (2641 meters), with a steep climb along a path equipped with pillars and a steel rope to the peak, taking approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes. The views are spectacular, including Musala Peak, the highest in the Rila Mountains and the Balkan Peninsula (2925 meters), as well as the Pirin and Rhodopi mountains.
The hike proceeds from Sivri Chal over the peaks of Kameniti Chal and Soufan, descending back to Belmeken Dam. The guide will make a stop at a traditional restaurant between the spa resort of Kostenets and the town of Momin Prohod to enjoy Bulgarian traditional cuisine.
