- Buddha Mountain (Khao Chi Chan) - Buddha Mountain (Khao Chi Chan)
Khao Chi Chan is renowned for its enormous sculptural depiction of Lord Buddha carved into a massive cliff. This impressive image was created in 1995, initiated by the then Supreme Patriarch who believed it was wasteful to destroy these marble mountains. He commissioned the creation of the giant Buddha image on the already halved cliff. This monument was also constructed to honor His Majesty King Bhumibol on the occasion of his Golden Jubilee.
- Anek Kuson Sala (Viharnra Sien) - Viharnra Sien was established in 1987 to celebrate King Bhumibol Adulyadej, or Rama IX, on his 60th birthday. Also known as Viharn Sien, it is located within the Wat Yansangwararam complex. Visitors are greeted by two large stone Peking lions and several Chinese mythological figures at the entrance. Inside the temple-museum, one can admire numerous precious and rare Chinese artifacts, paintings, terracotta figures, and antiques on display.
The museum also features sculptures of Chinese Gods, a jade statue of Guanyin, the Chinese Goddess of Mercy, and many Buddha statues. Some of these artifacts were gifts from the Chinese Government. Another section of the museum, appealing to art and history enthusiasts, showcases paintings depicting significant scenes from Thailand’s history.
- Jomtien Beach - Jomtien Beach, often spelled Chom Tian on road signs and maps, is a town on the eastern coast of the Gulf of Thailand, approximately 165 km southeast of Bangkok in Chonburi Province. Located about 3 km south of Pattaya, it boasts high-rise condominiums, beachfront hotels, beaches, and restaurants.
- Big Buddha Temple - Prepare to be awed by one of the world’s largest Buddha images during a visit to Pattaya. Known as Wat Phra Yai, the Big Buddha Temple features a 300-foot-high image of Lord Buddha, serving as Pattaya’s most prominent landmark. Established in 1977, locals often refer to it as Luang Phor Yhai or Big Buddha. Its hilltop location distinguishes it from other city attractions. A long stairway leads to the grand Buddha image, surrounded by various smaller images on the hill.
Wat Phra Yai is situated on Khao Phra Tamnak Hill, a popular vantage point in Pattaya offering stunning views of the city and bay. When driving up the hill, the Big Buddha image is visible from a distance.
- Pattaya City Sign - Viewpoint - Khao Pattaya Viewpoint is a small hilltop offering breathtaking panoramic views of Pattaya city. The sacred Wat Kho Phra Bat temple is also located on the hill and is a major attraction. A photographer’s paradise, Khao Pattaya Viewpoint is the ideal spot to enjoy magnificent views of Pattaya Bay.
- Bali Hai Pier - Bali Hai Pier, commonly referred to as Pattaya Pier, is a central feature of the city, situated at the end of Walking Street, near Pattaya Bay’s southernmost point. It is bustling with activity, hosting day-trippers heading to nearby Coral Island (Koh Larn), scuba divers, fishing enthusiasts, and private charter boat trips. The jetty extends far into the bay and is lined with various boats. It is clearly visible from Pattaya View Point and has become an iconic image of Pattaya.
- Walking Street Pattaya - Walking Street Pattaya is Thailand’s largest and busiest party hotspot, with only a few places in Bangkok surpassing it in volume and variety. Stretching a full kilometer from its high-tech gateway at Beach Road to Bali Hai Plaza, nearly every building along its length is a nightclub, go-go bar, beer bar, or restaurant. Each side street, spanning from Soi 14 to Soi 16, with a few uniquely named streets in between, offers more of the same, transforming the city’s southern end into a vibrant nightlife hub with something for everyone.
- Beach Road - Beach Road is the heart of activity in Pattaya. This 4 km stretch overlooks the Gulf of Thailand and is lined with the finest shopping opportunities the beach city offers, including international-standard shopping malls, street stalls, and great value tailors and boutiques. As is typical of Pattaya, the lively nightlife scene is always nearby, infusing this palm tree-shaded avenue with energy and excitement. Baht buses travel along the one-way street, making shopping trips quick and convenient for happy travelers.
