Kenneth knows his job - Kenneth is a great guide and we were very lucky to be led by him only as a couple. He found us many animals for us and also took great photos with our I-Phones.
He responded 100% to our wishes and so with his help we found different snake species, including the very pretty slugeaters, but also a highly venomous Fer de Lance.
Countless frog species, toads, many insects, sleeping birds, including hummingbirds, completed the experience. Great! Anytime again. But only with Kenneth!!
Dinner was also good

Highly recommended - Jungle Night Tour
The tour was very good and was a super recommended experience. They picked us up at the hotel and eventually took us back, which is very much appreciated. The food was delicious and during the tour we saw many animals, including snakes, frogs and others, which made it very exciting.
Rudolph was our guide; he did a good job and you could tell his knowledge. The tour was mostly in English, and also in Spanish.
Overall, it was a very nice and well organized experience. Highly recommended!

Excellent Night Trek - Excellent experience traversing the park at night with our guide Anderson. We were able to view a wide range of animals including frogs, spider, snakes and scorpions within their natural habitat. Our guide was very knowledgeable and was able to spot a sloth with baby climbing tree which was a highlight.

Amazing wildlife at night — but the guiding and animal handling ruined it - We did Rainmaker Park again with Jade Tours for the night tour. Pickup and drop-off were exactly as promised, and dinner (chicken or veggie fried rice) was fine.
Rainmaker at night, though? I highly recommend it. The difference compared to daytime is vast — there’s so much more life. This was my friend’s first night walk (my sixth in Costa Rica), and we saw a lot: multiple frogs (including glass frogs), turtles, snakes, a sloth, and plenty of insects. The park itself was excellent, and I’d absolutely do a night tour there again.
Unfortunately, I can’t recommend Jade Tours. The guides weren’t friendly and didn’t really make an effort to bring the group together or set a good tone, and the group size felt too big for a night walk on narrow paths. In the dark, people end up spread out and some miss sightings. It got even worse because we kept overlapping with another group, so at points it felt like 10–11 of us together, including both guides. One of the guides we encountered was also openly aggressive/hostile, and our guide still seemed to want to stick close to them, which didn’t help the experience.
The biggest issue, though, was the constant handling of animals. The guides repeatedly stepped off the path to pick things up — frogs, insects, and even went into the water to grab a turtle. The turtle immediately pulled into its shell, clearly stressed, then ran when it was put down… and the guide chased it and picked it up again.
The glass frog incident was the moment that really crossed the line for me. We reached a stream and, without explaining anything, the guides just stepped straight into the water. For a second, some of us genuinely wondered if we were meant to follow them in. It turned out they were searching for a glass frog. We assumed they were just scanning the area and would point one out if they found it — but instead they kept looking until they grabbed one, put it on a leaf, and brought it out for everyone.
Then it got worse: the frog was held up on the leaf with a light underneath it so two guests could film it, for at least a couple of minutes. I waited patiently for everyone to finish so I could take a natural photo. When I asked if they could please just put the frog down so I could photograph it without staging it, the guide got defensive. He snapped at me, acting like I was being unreasonable because now it “had to be put back.”
Bottom line: Rainmaker night tours are incredible, but this company needs to change its culture around wildlife handling, improve group management (smaller groups, less merging), and work on basic friendliness and atmosphere.
