Day 01: Arrival at Paro Airport - Thimphu

Paro International Airport - Upon arrival at Paro International Airport, a representative (Guide) will warmly welcome you and accompany you on a drive to Thimphu (50km), which takes about an hour.

Tachogang Lhakhang Bridge - The Tachogang Iron Chain Bridge is situated along the Paro-Thimphu highway, just before Chhuzom. It’s a short 10-minute walk from the highway and offers a fantastic spot for photography with its stunning views and tranquil atmosphere.

Thimphu Chorten (Memorial Chorten) - The National Memorial Chorten is likely one of the most popular attractions in Thimphu, serving as a daily place of worship for many locals.

Clock Tower Square - Explore Bhutan’s capital city by walking through Clock Tower Square, a notable landmark adorned with intricate Bhutanese designs. Day 02: Thimphu Sightseeing

Choki Traditional Art School - Visit the Choki Traditional Art School in Thimphu (30 minutes north), a remarkable institution dedicated to preserving Bhutan’s traditional arts and crafts.

Pangri Zampa Monastery - At Pangri Zampa, the Astrology College, you can discover your astrological birth chart. Here, an astrologer will provide a personal consultation, interpreting your chart and offering insights based on ancient Bhutanese wisdom. This enlightening session offers a deeper understanding of your life path through Buddhist cosmology.

Jungshi Handmade Paper Factory - The Handmade Paper Factory is renowned for producing traditional paper. You can purchase this unique paper here, which makes for interesting souvenir gifts.

Tashichho Dzong (Thimphu Dzong) - Tashichho Dzong is a magnificent fortress-monastery housing the offices of the King and the central monastic body. It is open to visitors from 05:00 PM to 06:30 PM on weekdays and from 09:00 AM to 04:30 PM.

Day 03: Thimphu - Punakha

Buddha Dordenma - The Buddha Dordenma, also known as the “Buddha Point,” is a massive statue of Buddha Shakyamuni located atop a hill in Kuensel Phodrang Nature Park, overlooking Thimphu.

Dochula Pass - Dochula Pass is a mountain pass in Bhutan, situated at an elevation of around 3,100 meters (10,200 feet) above sea level. It is famous for its breathtaking panoramic views of the Himalayan mountain ranges, including the majestic snow-capped peaks.

One of the most notable features of Dochula Pass is the Dochula Pass Druk Wangyal Chortens, also known as the Dochula Pass Stupas.

Punakha Dzong - Punakha Dzong, also known as Pungtang Dechen Photrang Dzong, is one of Bhutan’s most beautiful and significant dzongs, located at the confluence of the Pho Chhu (Male) and Mo Chhu (Female) rivers.

Punakha Suspension Bridge - Spanning 160m over the Phochu River, this bridge connects the Punakha Dzong with nearby villages and agricultural lands. The bridge gently sways in the wind, adding a touch of thrill to your journey. It offers breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains, river, and the Punakha Dzong itself, making it a favorite spot for visitors to take photos and enjoy the scenery.

Khamsum Yulley Namgyal Chorten - Later, enjoy a 45-minute hike (one way) to Khamsum Yulley Namgyel Chorten, with picturesque views of the rice terraces along the river. Khamsum Yulley Namgyal is a beautiful chorten located on a ridge at Kabesa Gewog in Punakha, overlooking several villages.

Day 04: Punakha - Paro

Chimi Lhakhang Temple - After breakfast, walk through farmhouses in Sopsokha village to reach Chimi Lhakhang, a 15th-century fertility temple blessed by Lam Drukpa Kuenley, known as the Divine Madman for his eccentric behavior. He is also considered a symbol of fertility, and many childless couples visit his temple for blessings.

Paro - Begin the journey to Paro (4 hrs).

Rinpung Dzong - In Paro, visit Paro Rinpung Dzong, also known as Paro Dzong, one of Bhutan’s most iconic fortresses, located in the scenic Paro Valley. Its full name, Rinpung Dzong, translates to “Fortress of the Heap of Jewels.”

Day 05: Paro Taktsang

Paro Taktsang - After breakfast, hike to Taktsang Monastery, a wooden structure perched on a cliff in the upper Paro Valley. The walk takes approximately 2 to 2.5 hours one way. It is said that the great Guru Rinpoche flew here on the back of a tigress and established this monastery when he brought the teachings of the Buddhist Dharma to Bhutan in the 8th Century.

Namgay Artisanal Brewery - Namgay Artisanal Brewery: Bhutan is known for its highly reputed and enjoyed brews. If you are a beer enthusiast, you must visit the Namgay Artisanal Brewery in Paro Valley to taste some of the finest brews.

Day 06: Departure
