Our meticulously crafted day trip from Paris will take you on a scenic ride through Versailles town, stopping by the vibrant local market, venturing into the majestic grounds and gardens, Marie Antoinette’s charming village, and the historical Trianons. Post-picnic, we proceed towards the Chateau, where you’re free to explore the palace on your own terms.
Our tour transforms history into a relatable narrative. We don’t just focus on the significant aspects of Versailles, but also include amusing anecdotes and intriguing tales. It’s more than just a bike tour, it’s an unforgettable countryside adventure, with the cost of tickets included.
- Please bring photo ID with you
- Tours operate rain or shine (ponchos are available)
- Everyone has time to explore the inside of the Chateau at the end of the bike tour (typically at 3:30pm). After this you can travel back to Paris at your own pace using the train tickets we provided you.
- All participants should be able to ride a bike with confidence.

Meet at 8:15 a.m. at Le Peloton Café in the Marais. The café is open from 8h, so feel free to come for breakfast.
**ATTENTION: If you’re tour takes place between 18 July-18 August 2024, you must come by Metro line 1 getting off at St Paul. Please do not come by foot, bike, taxi, etc.**

Add this to your itinerary! Incredible value! With Bike About Tours, our day-trip to Versailles was SEAMLESS and the experience truly one-of-a-kind.
Cafe Peleton, the morning meeting spot, is in the city center - Very easy to navigate to. Christian, Marley and the baristas were warm, welcoming and made us feel very taken care of. The train ride to Versailles and the collection of our bikes could not have been easier. We were given plenty of time to explore the farmer’s market and Marley, our fabulous guide, made sure we had all the French picnic staples on our shopping list. Speaking of Marley, she made our tour of the grounds pitch perfect. It’s clear she’s attune to the the needs of each specific group, always asking our preference as we go (Where would you rather sit for lunch, etc.) She was proactive to create water/restroom breaks. She made sure to leave room for questions. Her love for France and it’s history shone through every moment of the tour, and her infectious sense of fun made the day that much more memorable. We ❤️ Marley.
Our day to Versailles with Bike About Tours was a highlight of our Paris vacation and worth every cent. Highly, highly recommend.

The Best of the Best (AGAIN!!) by Bike About Tours!!! Rock on and Have FUN!! - This was a most excellent tour, as my other experiences with this company have been! Always FIVE STARS and best of show and best of class! Hats off to Bike About and our "tour guide," Marley! Marley was just wonderful! So knowledgeable about all the relevant history and related it in such a well composed and (OK - It was GOOD) dramatic way! She was so good at attending to all our needs and brought the tour to life! We had a small group and the others in the tour were great people, too! We highly recommend this company and Marley in particular, too! If possible, would give a TEN stars out of FIVE. Will be back again!! Love you guys!! Book with this firm for anything!! They are the best around!!

Marley was the best!! - We had such a great time on our Versailles bike tour with Marley! She was knowledgeable, patient, super funny and accommodating, and made us feel really safe biking through a bustling town. You can really see her passion and love for the history there, especially for Marie Antoinette’s story - it made the history feel so alive and memorable! She really made our day awesome - Highly recommend!!

Totally worth the price of Versailles Tour - Great experience, totally worth it! Very recommended tour to Versailles and see what you wouldn't on your own. You have a little experience of a french market, incredible products ans tastes. Our guide David, was sensational!

DO THIS TOUR WITH MARLEY! - Highly recommend, this trip was awesome. We saw the main sites, biked around the town, experienced the local farmers market and experienced the local culture. Most importantly, our host Marley made the trip 5 star. She was fun, friendly, endlessly knowledgeable and personalized every story. Our group including everything from 10 year olds to grandparents and Marley had us all engraved. All that was missing were forks and napkins… maybe next time.

A Royal Day with Marley and Bike About Tours - What a fabulous experience! Marley made the Versailles bike tour feel like a stroll through history with a trusted friend—her lively spirit and in-depth storytelling transformed every garden path, every peek at Marie-Antoinette’s hamlet, and even the Grand Canal picnic into a vivid, unforgettable journey. Marley rocks! - Marley was awesome!!! She took us around the Palace of Versailles and filled our heads with knowledge and our bellies with cheese, bread, and wine. It was an incredible day that will live on in our memories. Thanks!!

Some good, some less than good. - It was a mixed experience. First, the weather was perfect. My impressions of the tour were that it was curiously both hyper-organized and chaotic. Chaotic at the coffee shop and overly scheduled on the ride. We rode on less than ideal surfaces, had less than outstanding bicycles (I had no 2nd gear on a 3-speed, e.g.), heard some entertaining, if embellished, stories about the then prevailing French society, rode to the next story point, rinse, and repeat. Then having toured the grounds, which were beautiful, arrived at the Château, just in time to rush through. It was, by contrast, a disappointment. Indeed, I felt rushed the entire day. Would I do it again? Maybe. A map and reading list ahead of time would have been helpful. A chance to linger would have been nice. Was it fun? Yes, by and large.

Not exactly a bike tour - Not exactly a bike tour.
It was more a walking tour with a minor biking portion. Ended up walking over 10km with biking an additional 5km. By the time we walked through the train and metro stations to get the train, then walk to the bike storage in Versailles , we were staring to get tired. We had understood the visit through the gardens was on bike but it wasn't. It was a walking tour of the gardens. All that to say by the time we returned to Chateau Versailles at 3:30, We were too tired to walk through the chateau. Guide Jude was great though.
