A Super Tour - This was a great history lecture. ~ 2 hours of easily understood history on Paris, Notre Dame, and surrounding area. The cathedral did not disappoint- was amazing. Changes in regulations prohibited our guide from entering with us - but he did a very nice job of instructing us what to look for - including the organ loft and pipes.

Our guide Anthony was fantastic!! - Our tour guide for Notre Dame was Anthony and he was the best tour guide my wife and I have ever had. He was very knowledgeable of the history, architecture and detailed purpose of this beautifully restored Cathedral. He was patient with all our questions, and did not rush us through the tour. You could just feel he was very passionate about his work and sharing his knowledge of this wonderful Cathedral. He set up viewing the highlights of the tour like a theatrical reveal. It was just breathtaking ! I had toured Notre Dame before the fire and when I stepped inside this time after the restoration it’s hard to describe the amazing difference thanks to the countless workers and artisans. Thank you Anthony!

Wonderful experience! Fabulous guide! - We met our guide, Meghan, at the meeting point which was easy to find. Meghan was delightful! She was personable and professional. We walking the island city and Meghan explained the history of the various buildings and they impacted the history of Paris. She carried a folder that had pictures that amplified the discussion points perfectly. The finale was touring Notre Dame. Meghan was very knowledgeable about the 2019 fire that destroyed a portion on this iconic structure and the restoration work that occurred since that timeel. She also explained various art pieces and described the stories behind the stained glass windows. We thoroughly enjoyed our tour and our time with this wonderful guide!

Started bad but ended up being a great tour thanks to second guide - Started off with the guide being delayed, but that was to our benefit because the guide that showed up gave us a private tour. He was very informative and I would do a tour with him again. My only comment that is negative for the tour company is make sure the guides are early for the tourists that do not know the area.

Highly recommend! - Patrick our guide was amazing. So knowledgeable and personable. Great at conveying information and it was emotional hearing about the history of the cathedral. Also, facts about the restoration and aspects of so much of the artwork that is throughout. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience!

Bad Customer Service - We booked an Interior Notre Dame and city walking tour through Walks in Europe about a month before our trip. One of the main reasons we booked the tour is the fact that we could navigate the internal tour with our 3 year old son and get priority access to the cathedral. Before our tour, they changed both the meeting location and the start time from 9am to 2:30pm. While the time change was not ideal, we made it work. Then, when we arrived to our tour yesterday, we were notified that the interior of notre dame was no longer included in the tour (remember the name of the tour is the “Paris: Notre-Dame Cathedral Interior & Ile de la Cité Guided Tour”). They advised that the law changed 15 days prior preventing them from doing tours inside. Had I known of that fact in advance, we would have cancelled the tour. Instead, our tour was cut 45 minutes short because my kids did not want to wait in the long line to get inside and the other individuals on the tour did want to do a self guided tour inside. I reached out to Walks in Europe’s customer service requesting a refund, and would’ve been happy with even a partial reimbursement. Their response is that they refused to provide any refund, citing that they “provided me notice that the interior access restriction was communicated in advance.” I checked my emails and they emailed me THE DAY BEFORE (while we were traveling and not actively monitoring emails) about the lack of internal access. The law had changed 15 days prior and they didn’t reach out until the day before our tour. I understand circumstances outside their control impacted the tour. What is not acceptable is their refusal to acknowledge that they did not properly notify me with enough time to cancel the tour I booked that could not be completed. And of course their refusal for any sort of refund or customer service regarding the issue. In short—DO NOT USE Walks in Europe for your tours unless you want to receive bad customer service.
