• Chateau De Chaumont Sur Loire - 14:00 Arrival at Chateau de Chaumont Sur Loire. Founded in the 10th century and rebuilt in the 15th century by Charles I d’Amboise, this castle has been a protected monument historique since 1840. Now owned by the French state, it is open to the public. In 1559, Catherine de Medici compelled Diane de Poitiers to accept the Château de Chaumont in exchange for the Château de Chenonceau. Diane de Poitiers spent her last three years here.
