Visitors can enjoy a leisurely walk under the arches or along the garden paths, taking in the beautiful red brick facades. The lively atmosphere is enhanced by shops that open on Sundays. This square serves as a perfect starting point for exploring the Marais, a charming historic neighborhood known for its rich heritage and unique ambiance. Many 17th and 18th-century mansions have been converted into world-renowned museums.
- Jardin de l’Hotel de Sully - Also known as the Hotel de Bethune-Sully, this building was originally constructed as a private mansion in the 1600s. It was declared a historical monument in Paris in 1862, making it a must-visit for its remarkable architecture. Located near Place des Vosges, it was commissioned by King Henry IV of France and managed by Maximilien de Béthune, Duke of Sully (1559-1641). The Duke acquired the residence in 1634, and it remained in the Sully family until the mid-18th century. Notable figures like Madame de Sévigné and Voltaire have stayed here. Acquired by the French state, its restoration began in the 1950s, sparking the redevelopment of the entire district. Since 1967, it has served as the headquarters of the Centre des Monuments Nationaux.
- La Rue des Rosiers - Rue des Rosiers, meaning “street of the rosebushes,” is located in the 4th arrondissement of Paris, France. It starts at Rue Malher and extends northwest across Rue Pavée, Rue Ferdinand Duval, Rue des Écouffes, and Rue des Hospitalières Saint-Gervais. As the heart of the Parisian Jewish community, it is worth exploring for its vibrant atmosphere, shops, and restaurants. The Marais, France’s largest gay district, is home to numerous bars and clubs. Famous falafel shops like L’as du falafel can be found on Rue des Rosiers.
- Eglise Saint-Paul Saint-Louis - Situated in the heart of old Paris, the Saint-Paul-Saint-Louis Church is a historical gem not to be missed while exploring the Marais neighborhood. Listed as a historical monument since 1887, it underwent a complete renovation in 2012, restoring its former glory. Built between 1627 and 1641, this Jesuit church was the first in Paris to transition from Gothic to Baroque style. After the Jesuit order was banned in 1762, the church was managed by local clergymen. During the French Revolution, it was repurposed as a storehouse, with many treasures lost or stolen. Architect Victor Baltard restored it in the 19th century.
- Memorial De La Shoah - Situated in the historic Marais district, the Shoah Memorial offers a wealth of resources and activities across nearly 5,000 square meters. Visitors can view this renowned memorial from the outside, known for its Wall of Names. This wall bears the names of 76,000 Jews, including 11,000 children, deported from France with the Vichy government’s collaboration as part of the Nazi plan to annihilate European Jews. Most perished at Auschwitz-Birkenau, with others at Sobibor, Lublin, Majdanek, and Kaunas/Reval camps between 1942 and 1944. Only 2,500 survived. The wall restores the identities of those the Nazis sought to erase, ensuring they are remembered.
- 4th Arr. - Hotel-de-Ville - The Hôtel de Ville de Paris has been the seat of the Paris City Council since 1357. The current neo-renaissance building was designed by architects Théodore Ballu and Edouard Deperthes on the site of the former Hôtel de Ville, which was destroyed during the Paris Commune in 1871. Visitors can tour this prestigious location by reservation through the city’s Protocol Department. The tour includes the function room, a replica of the Hall of Mirrors at Versailles. Free major exhibitions are also held here, attracting many visitors.

Upon arrival at Gare du Nord, it’s a ten-minute walk to the Indian restaurant where a fixed vegetarian menu is reserved for you. Drinks are not included. The guide will accompany you to the restaurant and bid you farewell. Gare du Nord is Europe’s busiest railway station and the third largest and busiest globally. It can accommodate 700,000 passengers and 2,200 train movements daily, making it the second-largest station by passenger capacity. Originally designed by Léonce Reynaud, the old station was demolished in 1860, with the new station constructed until 1865, opening in 1864 while still under construction.
