- Place de la Republique - This section highlights the significance of this square for both Paris and the entire nation. It discusses the statue of Marianne and its importance in French history, as well as the vibrant atmosphere of the square and the surrounding district. This area is known for its progressive vibe, which perfectly complements the spirit of our walk.
- Canal Saint-Martin - Located on the opposite side of Paris, this canal offers a distinct experience from the Seine River. Originally dug by Napoleon in the early 19th century for transportation, it is now a beloved spot for enjoying a sunny drink, popular among locals and visitors alike.
- Le Petit Cambodge - We will pass by Le Petit Cambodge, a restaurant that was tragically affected during the Bataclan attack on the evening of November 13, 2015. Here, we will see a memorial for the victims and share a personal story.
- Canal Saint-Martin - Returning to the canal, we will visit a charming lock. From an iron bridge, we can observe the space between the two gates. Occasionally, a boat may pass through, allowing us to witness the lock in action and the water level changing, though this cannot be guaranteed during our walk.
- Le Marais - We will continue along the canal back to Place de la Republique. If time permits and our guests are interested, we can explore the popular Marais district, showcasing Temple and/or Marché des Enfants Rouge (if open). Guests can then continue their Parisian adventure from here.
