The trip will continue from Leonsberg by wooden tent boat to Fort Nieuw-Amsterdam, which hosts the historic open-air museum. This fort was constructed by Dutch colonists in 1734 at a strategic point to safeguard the plantations from English and French threats. Following this visit, the journey will proceed to the former Rust and Werk plantation, where a fishing village and remnants of colonial coffee and sugar plantations can be explored. Visitors can observe the traditional lifestyle of the descendants of indentured laborers.
The subsequent destination is the charming old Frederiksdorp coffee plantation, where the beautifully restored buildings now function as hotel accommodations. On the return journey, there will be a stop at the Johan and Margaretha plantation, which is currently utilized by local farmers for cultivating various crops, including cassava, bananas, and peppers.
