Setting Out on a Family Adventure

As a family that thrives on exploring the rich tapestry of Europe’s historical sites and cultural landmarks, we were eager to add a touch of adventure to our travels. Our destination this time was the picturesque village of Papingo, nestled in the heart of Greece’s Zagori region. Known for its stunning natural beauty and traditional stone architecture, Papingo promised a unique blend of history and adventure. Our main attraction was the Nefeli Canyoning experience, a family-friendly canyoning adventure that had come highly recommended.

The morning of our adventure dawned crisp and clear, with a hint of chill in the air—a reminder that we were visiting in early April. Despite the cool weather, our spirits were high as we met our guides, Angel and George, who immediately put us at ease with their warm smiles and professional demeanor. They equipped us with wetsuits, neoprene socks, and all the necessary gear, ensuring we were well-prepared for the day ahead. My children, aged 10 and 7, were particularly excited, their eyes wide with anticipation as they listened to the safety briefing.

Descending into the Canyon
