The tour kicks off on the island’s east coast, showcasing its beautiful black sand beaches and renowned surf spots, before venturing into the heart of the Papenoo Valley, the largest valley in Tahiti.
This journey through the island’s lush nature offers a chance to experience its essence in a genuine and unique manner.
The tour includes commentary and stops at several notable sites, presenting breathtaking views up to Caldera, an extinct volcanic crater that gave rise to Tahiti Nui. Be captivated by the majestic waterfalls, verdant mountains, rich vegetation, and local flora and fauna. The guide will share intriguing tales about myths and legends, marae, and the island’s vibrant cultural and historical heritage.
- Vallee de la Papenoo - STEP 3:
After traveling halfway around the island and reaching Caldera, the excursion proceeds to the authentic village of Fare Hape, a place steeped in history where you can explore the traditional lifestyle of Tahiti’s inhabitants (marae, fare, Tahitian oven, etc.).
Before setting off, it is highly recommended to bring a sandwich or snack for lunch. A stop at a supermarket will be made to purchase any necessities.
Lunch will be enjoyed in the charming and picturesque setting of the village of Fare Hape, providing a well-deserved break.
It is also highly advisable to bring a personal water bottle or bottles to stay well-hydrated during the excursion.
A delightful surprise awaits to further immerse you in Polynesian culture for a moment of camaraderie and sharing.

The adventure continues with a visit to the tunnel connecting the East Coast to the West Coast, offering spectacular views of Vaihiria, Tahiti’s only natural high-altitude lake.
You will then traverse the entire island before returning to the starting point.
