At the summit of Namobuddha stands the magnificent Thrangu Tashi Yangtse Monastery, offering a sweeping view of the Panauti and Khopasi villages. Legend has it that in a previous life, Lord Buddha, as a prince, selflessly offered his body to a starving tigress and her five cubs, who were too weak to hunt. The Namobuddha Stupa, located near the monastery, enshrines the remains of this compassionate prince. The hike begins in the historic town of Panauti, traversing farmland, small woodlands, and villages en route to the top of Namobuddha.
