Panama past and present - Our family of three decided on a private tour with Elmer as our guide. He picked us up from our hotel on time and we were comfortably driven around in an air conditioned taxi.  We started at Panamá Viejo (the ancient city). Elmer was incredibly knowledgeable, helpful, and even had a great eye for taking pictures—he made sure we captured some really special moments. He also pointed out various trees, fruits and birds along the way. A quick tip: wear tennis shoes or good walking shoes! I started in sandals and quickly had to change because the walking paths are rocky. That said, it was absolutely worth it. Climbing the cathedral tower was a must—the panoramic views and the ocean breeze at the top were unforgettable. We also really enjoyed the museum, which tied everything together. After exploring the old city, Elmer took us to the new city - Casco Antigua where we continued our historical tour and visited some great spots for gifts, art and chocolate tasting. After our tour ended, we stayed longer to enjoy a meal, and Elmer spoke with the waitress and made sure we knew how to access WiFi at the restaurant so we wouldn’t have any trouble calling an Uber afterward. This is a very busy and vibrant city. If you’re visiting and want a personal touch, definitely do this tour—and ask for Elmer if you can!

A Nice Way to Explore Panamá La Vieja - Jorge was a good guide for my visit to Panamá La Vieja. Communication before the tour was appreciated, and he was very respectful throughout the experience. He was also accommodating in allowing the tour to start earlier, which worked well with my schedule. The tour was private, conducted in English, and the entrance to the site was included in the price, which made things simple and convenient. Jorge was knowledgeable about the history of Panamá La Vieja and answered the questions I had during the tour. I definitely felt like I learned more than I knew going in, and it was a nice way to explore the historic ruins with some helpful context. Overall, it was a good tour and a solid way to visit Panamá La Vieja.

Fun and informative. Thanks Maylin! - We checked out the old historical sights and went to the museum. I was the only person on the tour but that was no issue. I learned a lot about history while having great photos. Maylin was patient and clearly loves Panama. After the tour she was able to tell me where to get a great lunch. Note to travelers: there may be bugs. Wear light & comfortable clothing than can keep you covered.

Panama - The Oldest City on the Pacific Coast - Charlie was an amazing tour guide. He explained the long history of Panama, including why the city burned (terrible war strategies), the canal being given to the locals, and more. He also helped identify and explain what the different buildings in the area were.

Meh - Arrived to the Museum where you must purchase a ticket. On the wall it says tickets are 11 dollars. The lady tells me and my partner 17 dollars each. I refer to the wall and she said "Oh thats for residents, you have to pay 17 dollars". So a tax on people not from here? Once you get inside theres nothing special about the museum, just artifacts and a bunch of stories on the wall about how the spanish decimated the poor indian tribes. Its quite depressing. I spent 17 dollars x 2 to learn more about colonial terror. Didnt make much sense. Could of read it online.
