• Panama City - The tour kicks off with hotel pickups starting at 6:10 am. Although it might seem early for a vacation, the early start is worthwhile. It allows us to avoid crowds and enjoy more wildlife in the cooler morning temperatures.
• Panama Canal - Experience a ride along the Panama Canal, right beside ships journeying to the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. Our journey leads to Gatun Lake, where we will explore islands formed during the canal’s construction and observe the rich wildlife along its shores.
• Lake Gatun - As the second-largest artificial lake on the continent, the surrounding pristine rainforest is one of the few accessible places on Earth where the diverse flora and fauna native to Central America can be seen in their natural environment.
• Agua Clara Locks - Visit the Agua Clara Visitor Center to witness the new expansion locks in action.

Situated on the west side of the new Agua Clara Locks, the Agua Clara Visitor Center offers a scenic viewpoint to watch transiting vessels and learn about the Panama Canal’s operations, its construction history, its role in global markets, and the significance of its watershed. An observation deck provides a view of ships navigating through the Agua Clara Locks towards the Pacific or Atlantic oceans.

• Gatun Locks - A newly opened observation deck near the historic locks provides a picturesque view of the original canal and Gatun Lake.
• Fort San Lorenzo - The next stop is San Lorenzo National Park, where visitors can explore a remote rainforest teeming with flora and fauna, enjoy a freshly prepared picnic lunch, and tour Fort San Lorenzo. This 400-year-old Spanish fort, perched on a scenic cliff overlooking the Caribbean, offers a glimpse into the many pirate and privateer attacks that occurred at one of Panama’s most historically significant sites.

The Fort of San Lorenzo, located on an 80-foot (25m) cliff overlooking the Caribbean Sea at the mouth of the Chagres River, was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1980, along with the fortifications of Portobelo. It was part of the defensive system for the Spanish Crown’s transatlantic trade and is an excellent example of 17th and 18th-century military architecture. The Fort of San Lorenzo is one of the oldest fortresses in Spanish America, where visitors can learn about the numerous pirate and privateer attacks that took place at this historically important location in Panama.
