Renowned for its eastern beaches, Spargi spans 4.20 km², making it the third-largest in the region. The island rises to 153 meters above sea level. Spargi is a favored spot for rare bird species and Mediterranean fish. Its majestic granite rocks and ancient shipwrecks, including a Roman ship now housed in the naval museum on La Maddalena Island, add to its allure. Isola di Santa Maria - SANTA MARIA ISLAND: FAMOUS FOR ITS FINE SAND
Santa Maria Island covers 2 square kilometers with a perimeter of about 10 kilometers. It has the lowest altitude profile among the archipelago’s islands. Separated from Razzoli Island by a narrow canal called Passo degli Asinelli (Donkey’s Pass) on the east, and another smaller canal, Passo dello Strangolato (Strangled Pass), on the north, it is often considered part of Santa Maria’s territory. The southern side features Santa Maria Bay, home to a stunning fine white sand beach, the longest in the archipelago. Nearby are the ruins of a Benedictine monastery, built by the first settlers in the 13th century. Visitors can enjoy a scenic path to the lighthouse at Punta Filetto.

Budelli Arcipelago Maddalena - After a beach stop and lunch break in front of Spargi Island, the tour continues to Budelli Island, famous for its stunning pink beach. Budelli is one of the most renowned islands in the Mediterranean, known for Spiaggia Rosa, with its captivating pink sand. Unfortunately, this unique beach has been altered by tourists who have taken sand as souvenirs over the years. Budelli is considered the most beautiful island in the Mediterranean and a symbol of La Maddalena Archipelago National Park. Spiaggia Rosa, on its southern side, is a protected environmental monument. The pink sand’s color comes from fragments of a microorganism called Miniacina Miniacea. Experience this magical site on a pink beach Sardinia tour.

Spiaggia Rosa - Budelli Island is globally recognized as one of the Mediterranean’s most beautiful islands, admired for its romantic Pink Beach. To preserve its natural heritage, it is under strict protection by the Natural Park of the Archipelago of La Maddalena, which safeguards its rare natural beauty. The beach’s name comes from the pink sand at Cala di Roto, created by the dispersion of Miniacina miniacea fragments, a pink microorganism, upon the death of the organisms inhabiting the shells formed by this microorganism.
