Great day of learning - We thoroughly enjoyed a whole day at this amazing, informative museum and cultural center. The lunch we had at the cafe was also tops.

An excellent live tour from Cici - My partner and I joined the 12 noon tour guided tour with Cici. We were both impressed with her knowledge and memory of historical facts. She related to the tourists with a friendly demeanor and spoke clearly for us to understand. I was very impressed with her Maori pronunciation. Many tours these days are recorded and tourists just listen to the recording. However, Cici gave us a live tour with anecdotes and answered all of our questions. We were very impressed with her professionalism. P. S. It was good to see you walking backwards Cici, because I have heard that it's good for your health. 😉

Poignant - I only had an hour because of another trip and some heavy rain that hit so I can only make a very limited comment. I was able to attend the Cultural Performance which quite literally moved me to tears. To stand at the birthplace of a nation and be welcomed so beautifully by an ancient culture is really special. I had time to visit one of the museums and take some time to reflect at the flag pole. When I head back to NZ again next year I’ll go back and really take my time.

Great way to spend a sunny morning - The grounds guided tour was great and was a fantastic way to spend a sunny morning if in Paihia. The museums were modern and informative. The cultural performance was a little touristy and cringe for us kiwis, however there is a good cafe with a good range of food and good coffee at a good prices.

Wonderful Visit to the Waitangi Treaty Grounds - I visited the Waitangi Treaty Grounds for the first time with a group of cousins. We all have historical connections to the region and to what happened at Waitangi, but it was our first time to visit in “tourist” mode. We were all blown away. Visiting Waitangi Treaty Grounds is a must for New Zealanders of all backgrounds. It helps to give all an understanding of what took place in this historically important place in 1840, and how our present was impacted by what happened there. The grounds are beautifully maintained, and the information on display well put together. During our tour we had the amazing Cee Cee (Not sure if that is how her name is spelt) who was informative, funny, but also quick to pull out facts and answer questions on demand. Put the Waitangi Treaty Grounds on your list of places to visit. It is a must for all New Zealanders.

Ripped Off - Wow was so ripped off. We paid $150 for our family and nothing else offered than a museum with little in it. We saw the waka and that's it. Not worth what we paid. All we heard was the same history taught in schools all over NZ.
