Phuket Elephant Sanctuary Experience 🐘 - My experience here Volunteering at the Phuket elephant sanctuary has been one of knowledge and growth! Firstly Everyone here that has helped and supported us have been wonderful and super kind: giving us cold towels and guiding us if we are lost or confused. Second learning about how elephants are culturally and economically important to Thailand helped me understand that they are trying to save these elephants from conflicts. The caretakers take very good care of the elephants and have continually showed compassion and dedication in everything they do. I highly recommend visiting this sanctuary to learn more about the elephants role in this world and to have fun?

Amazing and Natural - This Sanctuary was an incredible experience that let me interact with the elephants in an awesome and safe way. These gentle giants deserve to live out their lives in peace and pleasure and this experience does just that. I was able to observe them in their natural habitat and watch the interaction freely with the wildlife and nature.

Amazing!!!! - I loved visiting this elephant sanctuary! You can really tell how ethical the place is. The elephants have lots of space and freedom, and they all seemed relaxed and happy. The mahouts clearly care deeply about them and treat them very gently.
The elephants were amazing to see up close, and you can tell they’re well cared for. The food was also really good and everyone was so kind. Such a great experience!

Amazing tour - My full-day visit to the Phuket Elephant Sanctuary was one of the most memorable and meaningful experiences of my trip to Thailand. From start to finish, everything was incredibly well organized, educational, and inspiring.
What stood out most to me was how clearly the sanctuary prioritizes the welfare of the elephants. Unlike many places where elephants are used for riding or performances, this sanctuary allows them to live freely and naturally in a large, beautiful jungle environment. It was amazing to see these rescued elephants roaming, bathing in mud pools, and interacting with each other in such a peaceful setting.
The guides were fantastic. They were knowledgeable, passionate, and clearly cared deeply about the elephants. Throughout the day they shared the stories of each elephant, explaining where they were rescued from and how the sanctuary helps them recover and live comfortably. Hearing those stories made the experience even more powerful and meaningful.
One of my favorite parts of the day was watching the elephants during feeding and bath time. Seeing them up close while they enjoyed their food and cooled off in the water was incredible. The sanctuary keeps a respectful distance so the elephants remain comfortable, which I really appreciated because it shows their commitment to ethical tourism.
The facilities were also excellent. The observation platforms gave great views without disturbing the animals, the food provided during the tour was delicious, and transportation was smooth and convenient. Everything felt very professional and thoughtfully planned.
Overall, the full-day tour at Phuket Elephant Sanctuary is something I would highly recommend to anyone visiting Thailand. It’s not just a tour—it’s an opportunity to learn about elephant conservation and support a place that truly cares about these incredible animals. It was a beautiful, educational, and unforgettable experience that I will always remember.

Great sanctuary! great for every type of group and great food! - We really enjoyed our stay at the elephant sanctuary and it was truly a memorable experience. From the moment we arrived, everything felt very well organized and high quality. The staff were welcoming, knowledgeable, and clearly very passionate about the care and protection of the elephants.
Although they no longer allow visitors to feed the elephants, we actually appreciated this policy because it shows how much they prioritize the animals’ well-being. The sanctuary focuses on respecting the elephants’ natural behaviors and space rather than turning the experience into entertainment. It was clear that the elephants are treated with great care and dignity, and that the sanctuary values traditional and ethical elephant care above everything else. Seeing the elephants in an environment where their comfort and health come first made the experience even more special.
Another highlight of our stay was the food. The meals were excellent and added a lot to the overall experience. Everything felt thoughtfully prepared and high quality, which made our visit even more enjoyable.
Overall, this sanctuary offers a meaningful and responsible way to learn about and observe elephants. It is a high-quality experience that respects the animals and does not encourage harmful interactions. We would definitely recommend visiting to anyone who wants to see elephants in a place that truly values their space, traditions, and well-being.

Elephants sanctuary tour in Phuket Thailand - We had an incredible experience at the Elephant Sanctuary in Phuket, Thailand. Everything was very well organized, clean, and you can truly see how much they care about the elephants. The staff was friendly, professional, and very knowledgeable, and they made the whole visit feel safe and meaningful.
We loved being able to feed the elephants — it was such a special moment and something we will never forget. The snack and lunch were also delicious, fresh, and included in the experience, which made the day even better.
This was one of the best activities we did in Phuket. I highly recommend this sanctuary to anyone visiting Thailand!

One of the best days you'll ever have - Breakfast, lunch and an early dinner all included! Oh and a free t-shirt 🙈
Now on to the reason we visited! The elephants🐘 As a tourist, you want you want to see them but ideally ethically. This place is incredible. The 12/13 elephants they have atm can roam 30 acres of land, eat as much as they want and bathe when they choose. The only time you will see one tethered is if they need to clean an infected toenail and during that they are given snacks the entire time! Then she/he is free to mooch about as normal. Preparing food and getting to feed them is so interesting yet peaceful. A special shout out to our guide Ice who not only knows so much about these gentle giants but was also happy to take photos of us. This was our last full day in Thailand and was worth every penny. If you're wondering whether you should book the whole day, the answer is 100% yes. There were other wild animals we spotted. Birds, water lizards, pythob and of course butterflies throughout the day. The gift shop was fab too and felt nice to spend the last of our money to such a gorgeous charity!

Loved loved loved - I simply loved my day here. It’s probably the best experience I had in Phuket. I’ve seen elephants before but never so close. They love and respect those incredible beautiful and clever creatures and it’s incredible to see them free knowing they will have the best life now. I’ve enjoyed doing the volunteer part too, cutting bamboo trees for the elephants, preparing their beds and more. I highly recommend this sanctuary.

Incredibly educational, ethical, watching them live how they should - I did a volunteer week long programme here- the most incredible and educational experience! Learning about all the elephants personalities, past experiences, and mahouts was so interesting- I have learnt so much on my trip…
We harvested from the jungle and delivered directly to the elephants, cut up fruit for them, cleaned their enclosures, cleaned the hydrotherapy pool, kept the grounds cleaned of litter/poo whilst spectating the elephants. We made rice balls and handed fruit out to guests. Tour Guide KT educated us on the different ways elephant show emotions and use their trunk for signalling, and showed us some elephant teeth.
Huge shoutout to our volunteer tour guides Ice Cream, Patty and Minnie for making our time so lovely and teaching us so much. We were even brought some local Thai treats to try which were amazing!
If you are a solo traveller, you will meet such lovely people during your time.
The accommodation they arrange was very clean and comfortable. Transport was always on time and the company is very reliable
