Your adventure begins in the historic medieval city center, winding through iconic streets and leading you to the grounds of some of the University of Oxford’s most renowned colleges. You’ll weave through small alleyways and conclude at the historic Oxford Castle. Learn about Town & Gown conflicts, find out where C.S. Lewis might have drawn inspiration, see if you can spot J.R.R. Tolkien’s ghost, and visit the spot where former US President Clinton famously ‘didn’t inhale,’ all while dodging students on bicycles.

So don your caps and gowns, slip on some comfortable shoes, and get ready to explore the sights, uncover hidden gems, and ultimately conquer your Oxford City Centre Quest!

During your Quest, not only will you uncover the city’s main attractions, but you’ll also explore hidden treasures, learn fascinating facts about the places you visit, and notice details that others might overlook.

Since the activity is entirely self-guided via the app, you can begin your Quest whenever you choose (daylight hours only), with no fixed start or end times. There are no groups to follow.

Proceed at your own pace, linger longer at a location, take a break, or enjoy a snack at one of the many cafes and pubs along the trail. Alternatively, make it a race and aim for the top of the city leaderboard!
