Ourika day trip from Marrakesh - You need to be physically fit enough to climb up the valley Carry cash with you as there are plenty of souks as you go up which I didn’t expect. it’s like a market up. Also the restaurant we ate lunch didn’t accept card Amazing views and worth visiting. The driver and guide was very helpful and polite. The guide really help us climbing up

Very nice trip - Neat guide who knew a lot to tell (Anour) who lives in the valley . This tour is less suitable for people with poor fitness or walking difficulties. All in all a nice trip. However, it is advisable to make sure you bring local money to eat at the end of the tour.

Ourika Valley trip by Taxi - A Day Trip to Ourika Valley from Marrakech Just 64 kilometres from the buzz of Marrakech, Ourika Valley makes for a refreshing escape into nature. Nestled in the foothills of the Atlas Mountains, it’s a popular day trip—and for good reason. Getting There: Taxi Adventures A shared taxi to Ourika Valley usually costs 40 MAD per person, with six people sharing the ride. After waiting for a while for other passengers to join, the three of us decided to pay for all six seats and head off without delay. That meant 240 MAD one way, or 480 MAD for the round trip, including the driver waiting for us and bringing us back to Marrakech. In total, this covered 128 km of driving, almost two hours of waiting time, and the return journey, working out to £39.18 based on that day’s exchange rate. The driver was incredibly friendly, speaking broken English and pointing out villages, rivers, and scenery along the way, which added a personal touch to the journey. Lunch by the River Once in Ourika Valley, restaurants line both sides of the river, with tables set right beside the flowing water. Most places offer a set menu for 130 MAD, which includes a starter, main course, and dessert. We opted for: A omelette to start( there are Choice but choose one ) Chicken tagine as the main ( Choose one from the Selection ) Chocolate mousse for dessert At roughly £10.61 for three courses per person, it was great value, though the real highlight wasn’t the food—it was the views, fresh air, and peaceful surroundings. Alcohol in Morocco: What to Know One thing travellers should know: restaurants in Morocco don’t sell alcohol. You may find alcohol-free (halal) beer, but that’s about it. On our second day, we took a taxi to Carrefour supermarket, one of the few places where alcohol is sold. The taxi cost 50 MAD (£4.08) each way, and we stocked up there. Taxi Tip Worth Remembering A quick but important tip: yellow taxis in Marrakech don’t use meters. Prices are agreed verbally, so always bargain before getting in. Final Thoughts Ourika Valley is definitely a must-visit day trip from Marrakech. We didn’t walk up to the Atlas Mountain waterfalls, which takes about 30 minutes on foot. Since we arrived by taxi, leaving it behind to hike didn’t feel like the best option. If visiting the Atlas Mountains and waterfalls is a priority, I’d recommend booking a full-day guided tour, as it includes transport and makes the experience far easier. Sometimes, travel isn’t just about ticking off landmarks—it’s about the journey, the conversations, and soaking in the scenery. Ourika Valley delivered exactly that.

Beautiful nature - It was a mega good trip, but beautiful nature nice duration and a very nice guide who was good at helping when it became steep and cute to take pictures of us. The place where you could eat was okay, but we waited very long for our food so it wasn't very fat

Half a day wasted - The appointment was at 8:00, they picked us up and then we were left to shoot empty for two hours in Marrakech. They made us change buses, without explaining anything. After an hour and a half we arrived at a place, a Berber house, they offered us tea and bread samples with peanut butter, explaining that they sold products made with argan and various creams. After the break at the shop we left towards the middle, but when we arrived it was raining so much that we went first for lunch. Unfortunately it started to snow and therefore no hiking. Poor organization, lack of communication and excursion that should not be proposed if it is not possible to do it due to predictable weather conditions

To avoid if you love and respect nature - The Ourika Valley was supposed to be a remarkable natural site a few decades ago. Today, concrete and the maze of stairs, shops and restaurants have completely disfigured the site.
