Beautiful experience touring the Western Cape Boulder Beach - We had a wonderful time touring the Garden Route. The scenery is outstanding, our hosts excellent and the drivers were extremely proficient. We are seniors and we enjoyed meeting lovely young people from around the world. Travel holds no age boundaries We are especially grateful to Bobby and Waynita who always went out of their way to accomodate us. Thank you 😊

Cheers Mzi! - Comfortable and convenient service; drivers know the area well. Only real negative seems to be the central office being a little overwhelmed during the holiday season, being a little slow to respond to queries and updates. Our driver for the last leg Mzi also went the extra miles (literally) to get us out of a booking mishap that put several hundred kilometers from where we needed to be.

Brilliant Baz Bus - We had an incredible experience traveling the Garden Route with Baz Bus. The service was very reliable which made exploring South Africa easier. Props to Brian, who took us to our destinations on two occasions. He was both kind and professional. His driving was also safe which reassured us. Approachable and warm at all times. The thing that stuck out most was his passion to care for passengers. Baz Bus was the perfect way for us to see the country without stress. We whole heartedly can recommend it. Thank you for all that helped make our adventure unforgettable.

On time, communication uncoordinated, uncertain - I can definitely not recommend Buz Bus. I first booked the route – from George along the Garden Route – assuming it was a safe and comfortable option for solo travelers. Unfortunately, the opposite was true. The first stop from George to Oudtshoorn was a huge disappointment. Although there are basically sights there with the Cango cave and the ostrich farm, the effort and the additional costs are disproportionate. Transfers to the attractions had to be organised and paid for themselves – this cost almost half the original ticket price. I would advise anyone to skip this stop completely. Afterwards, I was supposed to travel on from Oudtshoorn back to George at McDonald's to wait for the next shuttle to Wilderness. This return trip of over an hour cost R850, which is disproportionately expensive, especially since Wilderness is only about 12 minutes from George. You could easily cover the short distance with a Bolt driver for a few euros – and without the uncertain and long wait with heavy luggage at McDonald's. Since I was apparently the only person using Buz Bus at that time, I was organized a private shuttle. I waited for over half an hour with heavy luggage at McDonald's in George – alone, with no information if or when anyone was coming. The situation felt increasingly uncertain. I was approached by strangers who wanted to help, and I felt uncomfortable. I tried several times to contact Buz Bus. Eventually the shuttle came and drove me to Wilderness in a few minutes. This experience aroused a lot of suspicion in me about how the rest of the route to Port Elizabeth (over three hours of driving time) would be organised. South Africa is not safe everywhere – especially if you travel alone as a woman. There are significantly better and more reliable providers than Buz Bus, which should be used if safety and reliability are important to you. In addition, communication with the company is extremely unprofessional: You are contacted via WhatsApp by several different numbers and people who are apparently not matched. You have to explain the same thing all the time – often with a bad network or an almost empty cell phone battery. The whole system seems uncoordinated and untrustworthy. My conclusion: Rent a car (alone or in a small group) or use established shuttle services. Price is similar, but you save yourself chaos, uncertainty and unnecessary waiting times. You will then also be picked up directly at the accommodation (!!!!) and do not have to wait alone long somewhere in nowhere. For me, the experience with Buz Bus was unfortunately consistently negative. I definitely won’t be using this service again – nor can I recommend it to anyone who values security, transparency and reliability.
