Oudtshoorn - Start with a pickup from your central Cape Town hotel and travel in a private vehicle to the Western Cape. Enjoy the breathtaking views along Route 62, which winds through the desert region of Klein Karoo, as well as the countryside and coastal areas from Cape Town to Port Elizabeth. The journey takes approximately five to six hours, with several stops included for stretching, taking photos, and dining. After traversing the rugged plains and towering cliffs, arrive in Oudtshoorn, the region’s main town, known as the ‘ostrich capital,’ where you will stay overnight.

The Cango Caves - Drop off your luggage at your accommodation and visit the Cango Caves for a tour. Explore the subterranean pathways and admire the impressive stalactite and stalagmite formations. Spend your evening at leisure, perhaps exploring the nightlife and dining options in Oudtshoorn.

Oudtshoorn – Sedgefield/ Knysna

Buffelsdrift Game Lodge - Activities - Check out of your Oudtshoorn accommodation in the morning and consider participating in an optional orphaned Elephant Observation in Nature experience (own expense) at a nearby reserve. Join a ranger and walk alongside these gentle giants in their natural habitat. Their parents were poached in the Kruger National Park, and to keep the family together, the herd was hand-reared and now roams the vast Cango Valley at the Buffelsdrift Private Game Reserve. Every morning and late afternoon, they eagerly visit the waterhole to meet their human caregivers. Visitors are welcome to observe these lovable creatures’ caring nature in the wild Karoo setting from a safe distance.

Garden Route (Tsitsikamma, Knysna, Wilderness) National Park - Enjoy a scenic coastal drive with views of Knysna, Plettenberg Bay, and Nature’s Valley, before arriving at Bloukrans Bridge, one of the world’s highest bungee sites. Standing 709 feet (216 meters) above the Bloukrans River, the bridge is an ideal spot to conquer your fears with an optional bungee jump (own expense). Alternatively, get your adrenaline pumping by watching the jumpers take the leap. If bungee jumping isn’t for you, explore the nearby Tsitsikamma National Park with a short, easy hike through the surrounding forests.

Knysna/Sedgefield – Cape Town

Botlierskop Private Game Reserve - Depart from your accommodation in the morning and begin the journey back to Cape Town, stopping along the way to enjoy the final activities of your tour. First, visit a private game reserve for a 2-hour 4x4 game drive to see some of Africa’s famous Big Five. Look out for African elephants, Cape buffaloes, lions, and rhinos. Giraffes, antelopes, zebras, and wildebeests are among the other animals you might encounter. If weather and safety permit, your guide will allow you to step off the vehicle for a close encounter with nature on a tranquil 5-minute bush walk to discover and learn about the smaller wildlife of this coastal renosterveld region. Then, return to your private vehicle for the final leg of the journey back to Cape Town. Conclude your 3-day experience with a hotel drop-off in the evening.
