Marrakech. Tizi n’Tichka. Ait Ben Haddou. Ouarzazate
Tizi n’Tichka - The journey begins with a drive towards the kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, passing through the magnificent Tizi n’Tichka mountains. Along the way, there will be stops to appreciate the stunning landscape and panoramic views.
Ksar of Ait-Ben-Haddou - The excursion continues to Ait Ben Haddou, the largest Kasbah in Africa. This remarkable Kasbah is a fortified Ksar (Royal Palace) featuring impressive structures and stunning mud houses. Ait Ben Haddou is a prime example of ancient Arab architecture. Before departing for Ouarzazate, known as the “city of movies,” there will be a lunch break.
Ouarzazate - Explore the towering walls of Ouarzazate, with its vibrant souks and authentic buildings, before visiting the impressive Film Studios. Visitors can tour the studios and enjoy a meal or coffee at the studio café hotel. Ouarzazate often hosts international and Hollywood film crews. Notable films shot here include Lawrence of Arabia (1962), The Living Daylights (1987), The Last Temptation of Christ (1988), The Mummy (1999), Gladiator (2000), Kingdom of Heaven (2005), Kundun (1997), Legionnaire (1998), Hanna (2011), and Salmon Fishing in the Yemen (2011). The visit also includes Kasbah Taourirt, one of Morocco’s most impressive kasbahs, once the largest in the country and now a historical monument honoring the Glaoui. Taourirt was strategically important for the Saharan Caravan Route to West Africa. Overnight stay and dinner at a hotel.
Ouarzazate. Dades Valley. Gorges Todgha. Tinghir.
Ouarzazate - After breakfast at the accommodation, the journey continues from Ouarzazate to Dades Valley.
Boumalne Dades - Discover the Dades Valley, dotted with oases, palm groves, and elaborate kasbahs. The valley is lush and green, nourished by the Dades River, which originates in the High Atlas Mountains and flows into Morocco’s largest river, the Draa. The river supports a variety of almond, fig, walnut, and birch trees, creating a striking contrast with the earthen-colored rocky formations. There will be a lunch break before continuing to Gorges Todra.
Todgha Gorge - Enjoy the towering orange cliffs of Todra Gorges, with peaks rising up to 980 feet (300 meters) above the Todra River, which once flowed from the High Atlas Mountains. Although the river has dried up, the landscape still tells the story of the powerful natural forces that shaped it. Overnight stay at a hotel.
Gorges Todgha. Tinjdad. Merzouga Desert Luxury Camp
Todgha Gorge - After breakfast at the accommodation, the journey proceeds to Tinjdad.
Merzouga Desert - Upon arrival at the hotel in Merzouga, guests are welcomed with tea before embarking on a gentle camel ride to the desert camp nestled among the golden dunes. Overnight accommodation is in a tent, with dinner under a starry sky. Around the campfire, enjoy live local music performed by the camp team, and spend the night in a comfortable camp amidst the dunes.
Merzouga. Rissani. Midelt. Azrou Cedar Forest. Ifrane. Fez
Merzouga - Early in the morning, enjoy a sunrise camel ride back to the hotel for a delicious breakfast and shower.
Rissani - The journey back to Fes includes a stop in Rissani to explore the town’s culture, visiting Zawiya Moulay Ali Ash-Sharif, established to honor the founder of the Alawite dynasty, and the dramatic Ziz Valley, with another stop at Lake El Hassan El Awal.
Midelt - A stop at a local restaurant offers a chance to enjoy a lunch meal in a Berber village located in the Middle Atlas Mountains.
Azrou - The journey continues to Azrou, an ancient Berber town with Africa’s largest cedar forest. Enjoy free time to wander through the lush forest and capture memorable photos.
Ifrane - The trip proceeds to Ifrane, a magical mountain town often referred to as “Little Switzerland” and one of Morocco’s most beautiful cities. The personal driver will introduce visitors to charming places and stunning landscapes, including captivating rivers throughout the town. The journey concludes in Fes.
