- 2-chōme-34-20 Sannō - 1. Gather at the central exit of JR Omori Station at 10:30 am. Look for someone carrying a bag with the “homecoming TAKA” logo. It’s an 8-minute walk to the house. Along the way, you’ll pass a shrine and stroll through a peaceful residential area.

Upon arrival at the house, the day’s program will be explained. Activities include Origami → making udon noodles → preparing Japanese dishes (sushi, dumplings, etc.) → matcha green tea → souvenir calligraphy on colored paper.

Begin with origami by folding a paper crane.

Next, create udon noodles. Enjoy the entire process from ingredients to completion, including stepping on the dough.

Together, prepare sushi and gyoza as the main lunch menu. This experience of Japanese cuisine will be the highlight of the day. Additionally, some Japanese small plates will be served by the host’s wife.

Engage in conversation and savor a relaxed lunch. All ingredients are sourced from Japan, including beverages. Beer, sake, shochu, and soft drinks are complimentary. Eat, drink, and enjoy!

After the meal, prepare matcha together and enjoy it with local Japanese sweets.

Finally, Keiko will inscribe the visitor’s name in calligraphy on colored paper to take home as a keepsake.

Parting is bittersweet. The hosts are easily moved to tears. They will accompany you back to JR Omori Station, hoping for another visit in the future.
